The game loses your zombies

There is a bug making zombies disappear and it's happening constantly.

I played about a month and a half of in-game time in a somewhat high population game in Fallas lake and noticed a notable difference between the number of zombies I could expect from the area and my kill counter. After checking the save in debug mode, the numbers didn't add up (around 2000 zombies were missing, not killed, not escaped into surrounding cells, out of ~6500 expected zombies), which led me to investigate further.

I then found these anomalies : just roaming around in a city, the effective population numbers tend to go down. After doing this for a while, there are hundreds of zombies missing. The zombies didn't move somewhere else, I disabled meta events, helicopters, zombie cutoff. No population curve, the effective populations started equal to the target ones. The zombies are just gone.

I spawned a horde of 100 zombies, put some distance so they were at the limit of the active area and went back and forth to load/unload the pack. I did this for not too long before there were some losses, seemingly in correlation with zombies being moving outside the active area (white dots on the zombie population popup). More moving and there were only 33 left. Reproduced it in another cell where I got the count down to 14. The effective population number isn't always perfectly reliable but I was able to count them manually at this point.

Obviously, this is a bug and I piled my findings on an existing bug report on the indie stone forums, but I think it's good to make some noise about it. I am not really motivated to play if the zombies are just going to disappear like that, without any hard work.

100 zombies turned into 33 by the power of walking.

Just moving around made a lot of zombies go poof.

Sunflowers are very OP

I started a new game in Fallas Lake, and there is a pretty sizeable sunflower field at the south entrance. I took the time to make the large plant drying rack, to see if these sunflower heads were as good as they looked to be. Sunflower seeds were one of the best foraging finds in b41.

Each head once dried gives 10 seeds, each plant gave between 1 and 4 heads from what I measured, the maximum could be more. Seeds are 355 calories now, instead of the 155 they were before. A sunflower head is therefore 3550 calories.

The result is, It's only 10 days in and I am sitting on 2-3 years worth of weight management, even though the zombies destroyed 80% of the field while I was trying to secure the area. Feels a bit pointless now to continue playing this save, I am not going to ever run out of food.

Maybe these should be tuned down a little.

Delicious strawberry remoulade. The "eat" option is missing, likely due to the item having 0 hunger reduction because strawberries are basically nothing.
