How'd I do on this SOS draft?

Turn 1 is supposed to be a tap land because I just didnt see any 1 drops. The only 1 drop I saw was Pack 3 Pick 6 and I had to take fixing over it. With all the mana requirements I figured it would be important. I can catch up with my late game spells later and the Artistic Processes.

The Sylvan Library should have been a Dig Site Inventory but I had to rare draft to pay for the draft. Ajani's Response could have been Interjection but I wanted the removal at the time. Now that the draft is over Interjection would have fit the curve better because I don't have any 3 drops and the removal is kind of expensive. I'm mostly on the offensive and I won't have as many opportunities to kill tapped creatures.

Otherwise, got hooked up in pack 3 for cutting all the red and white cards in the first two packs. Molten Core Maestro could have been the Scrollsmith but I was focused on early game and figured I could use the mana for all my expensive spells.

Now we need to cut 1 if you like the looks of what I have here.

Interesting spot to be in

I just secured a new job. 95k base plus commission selling an AI platform to SLED (State, local and education; I have a few years of experience selling into that vertical) and AWS tech like migrations and managed services. Standard VAR stuff, but the AI platform is a nice option to have access to as a salesperson.

It seems like a good opportunity to grow and learn about some new tech and their remote policy is, and I quote, “just get your work done”. Considering I want to live overseas, that would be huge. They don’t seem like they have many resources and are constrained financially though. Think startup vibes. I’d be working directly with the owner and a small team.

The thing is, I am also interviewing for two other positions on the side that would pay 120 or 130 base plus commission instead. I’m only making 78 right now so all of this would be a huge jump in pay. If I get offered 120+ plus commission, my hands will be tied and I can’t justify staying at this AI company for 95.

It would be super awkward to go back and ask for more because I just negotiated 95, and I would basically be going back on a deal we just made.

TLDR: I just got a new job making 95+ commission, and potentially could get an offer for 120 or 130+ commission.

My question is, how can I leverage another job offer to get more pay from the AI company?

How would I position this and what would I say without burning this bridge?

Edit: It feels almost unethical to try to go back and change the deal now. I guess I could just break the bad news and not try to haggle and let them make that decision if they want to.

What’s the most you lost in one session or one month?

Genuinely curious to see who admits to ever tilting stacks off. We’ve all done it if you’ve played long enough.

I want to at least start with a map somebody has beaten on deity before, bc I can’t figure her out.

Preferences: Gathering storm. Barb clans. Marathon or Epic. Deity. That’s what i usually play.

Starting near a wonder would be a good handicap for me.

I’m in the DMV area, so, high COL, and I’m being offered 95k salary and 15% on FM on deals.

How would you feel about that in your role? Deal sizes could be up to $350-450k or more on the larger side. Exitsting relationships with current clients and external partners are in place and account management to sell into existing accounts is part of this.

For me that’s a 20% bump in salary from where I am now and I’ll get to work directly with the owner.

Edit: finally, I can work remote overseas whenever I want. This has been my goal since I got into IT. I have friends in Colombia and I could be paying 400 a month for an apartment the size I’m in now.

Or is my team just bad at hiring? Because, based on the lack of talent on the technical side, it would seem like the job is incredibly difficult and hard to hire for. I’m losing deals because our SA’s can’t even explain basic AWS services.

And, as part of a separate conversation, what do i do to become an SA? If they’re so hard to find I should probably seek to become one because I could make more than as an AE.

I have 5 or 6 it certs, an associates in IT and years of relevant experience.
