I am thinking about buying a subscription, I come from codex, can't say I didn't enjoy it, but what I don't like is that I'm limited to openai and if it disappears in one moment I won't have anything else up my back. So I thought of trying Windsurf, heard that leading opensource models are free of charge, is that true?

From what I've seen in this sub people complain a lot about the quality/limits after rebranding to Devin, but I don't see much complains about getting limited on these models. Thoughts?

Hello! I am currently using OpenAI's plus plan. TBH, I mostly use it for programming (not vibe coding, programming) and only a little as an app/website to ask questions. So I'm wondering, would it make sense for me to buy the sub? From what I've seen on the website, limits seem to be really generous, and I would also love to switch away from closed source providers like openai.

I know the quality won't be at the same level, but it would be really close, which is all that I need!

Also a quick question: what's usually time till first token and tps you get and on which models? Thanks!
