How I cut my hospital bill by half, just by asking one thing

So last month i get bill from hospital, almost 900 dollar for just checkup and one blood test. I was so scared, my hand literally shaking when i open envelope. Then my friend tell me, always ask for "itemized bill", not the summary one. So i call billing office, i say politely "can you send me itemized bill please", they send it next day. And guess what, i see they charge me twice for same test!! Also they add some "facility fee" i never even ask for. I call back, i explain calmly (not angry, just confuse), and they remove it. Bill go down to like 430 dollar only. I almost cry, that money mean a lot for me right now. So if anyone here got big bill and feeling hopeless, please just try ask for itemized version first, don't pay before check. Sometimes mistake is on their side not ours. Anyone else had this happen too? How much you save?

The onion water trick nobody tell you about

Last week I was making soup and I burn the onion a little bit.. not full burn just little dark on edge. I almost throw it away but instead I add small cup of water and let it go on low heat, and it make like this dark sweet sauce thing on bottom of pan

I put my rice in that same pan without washing it.. just add water and cook rice normal. The rice come out with this smoky onion flavor that taste expensive?? My roommate thought I buy special rice from store lol

The burnt part on pan bottom.. in french cooking they call it something fancy but forget the name.. that thing is FREE FLAVOR and people just wash it away every day

Try it with any grain, rice, lentil, even pasta. Just dont let it go actual black, little dark brown is the sweet spot

My coworker follows me to the bathroom for chats and I don't know how to stop it

A few months ago I started my first full-time job, my first "big girl job." It's been amazing so far. Everyone is so nice. Maybe just a little too nice.

I'm an engineer in research and design, which means a predominantly male field and a predominantly male office. There's only one other woman there, the sweetest older lady you could imagine. But she's started doing this thing where every time I get up to go to the bathroom, she gets up and goes too.

First time, I figured it was a coincidence. Second time, still fine. Third time, okay, this is a little strange. By the fourth and fifth time, I started wondering if she's watching the hallway waiting for me to walk by.

Is this the end of the world? No, of course not. But she loves to talk, and I mean full-blown conversations, while we're both in there peeing. And here's the thing, my bathroom break is my me time. It's the one little pocket of peace I get during the day. So when my bladder is just trying to do its thing while I'm also expected to hold a conversation, that is not peaceful. At all.

I just don't know what to do about this. It feels too small and weird to bring up directly, but it's driving me a little crazy.
