Can anyone identify this unusual cast pendant? 21.79g, non-magnetic, found in an old wooden box in NC

I’m hoping someone here has seen something like this before.

This pendant came from an old wooden box in Rowan county nc.

Here are the details:
Weight: 21.79 grams
Non-magnetic
Approximately quarter-sized (see photos for scale)
Appears to be cast rather than stamped
Has an integral suspension loop
Front has an octagonal border with punched or molded geometric markings
Back has four raised horizontal ribs but no visible lettering or maker’s marks
I’ve searched for pilgrim badges, trade tokens, horse tack, folk amulets, and religious medals, but I haven’t found anything that matches this design.
Does anyone recognize the style, symbol, or possible age? I’d especially appreciate any thoughts on whether this looks like a folk amulet, decorative pendant, harness ornament, or something else entirely.

Need help identifying this unusual cast metal pendant

The pendant weighs 21.79 grams, is not magnetic, and appears to be cast from a soft white metal (possibly lead, pewter, or a lead-tin alloy). It has an integral loop at the top. Probably meant to be worn around the neck or to be hung up somewhere? Not sure.

I’ve searched for religious medals, plantation artifacts, trade ornaments, slave tags, military insignia, and folk charms but haven’t found any matches. Or how could I figure out what the letters say on the back?

Has anyone seen something similar or know what period or tradition it might belong to?
