Hello, hello! Remember me? I'm everything you can't control I've just finished my choir remix of Rapture! Quite a few people asked for it after my last post, so here it is!
I kept the choirs pretty subtle on this one because I think they fit the song better that way. Gosh... I think this might be my favorite track on the album now.
I love this song, and it inspired me to make a remix. I really wanted to hear it with background choirs and more strings, and since I saw some people asking for a "symphonic choir mix," here it is!
Now, for those who enjoy the technical side of things, here are a few interesting facts:
The original mix is really loud! It's already packed into a massive wall of sound, so there isn't much room left to add anything on top. Adding more layers, especially choirs, isn't a simple task. I tried to preserve the overall balance while adding very soft, heavily EQ'd layers.
Added instruments: choirs, strings, and piano. In some sections I preserved the original arrangements, while in others I wrote completely new ones.
The choir chant after the bridge has many layers. One of them is actually the choir from "Your Star" (The Open Door), pitched up by two semitones to match the song's key.
