Home Sweet Home v1.18 is out, and I'm also launching a brand-new companion extension: Home Sweet Home Launcher!

Hey everyone,

I just pushed v1.18 of Home Sweet Home, and this update comes with some improvements, and a pretty exciting announcement!

What's new in v1.18:

  • Toast Notifications: All system alerts have been replaced by smooth, non-blocking toast notifications. No more disruptive browser popups interrupting your workflow. Everything is now handled with subtle, elegant toasts.
  • Roadmap delivery dates: The roadmap now displays the estimated delivery date for the upcoming version, so you always know when the next update is landing.
  • New wallpapers: A fresh batch of images and videos has been added to the built-in wallpaper collection.

And now the big announcement: Home Sweet Home Launcher is here!

Alongside Home Sweet Home, I've been quietly building a companion extension, and it's now available on all three browsers.

Home Sweet Home Launcher is a lightweight toolbar extension that gives you instant access to all your links directly from your browser's toolbar. No need to open a new tab. Think of it as a fast, always-available personal app launcher, built to work hand in hand with Home Sweet Home.

Here's what it does:

  • Instant access to your links from a single click on the toolbar icon
  • Multiple pages to organize your links into categories
  • Built-in search to find any link in seconds
  • Drag & drop to reorder your links and pages
  • Import from Home Sweet Home: if you already use the new tab extension, you can import your links directly into the Launcher in one click

You don't need Home Sweet Home to use the Launcher. It works perfectly as a standalone lightweight bookmark panel.

Home Sweet Home (customizable new tab page):

Home Sweet Home Launcher (toolbar launcher):

As always, feedback, bug reports, and feature ideas are very welcome. They're what keeps this project moving forward. Thanks for the support!

Hey everyone,

I've just pushed v1.17 of Home Sweet Home, my customizable new tab extension.

This update adds a long-requested feature, an RSS Feed widget along with a public roadmap, a revamped feedback page, and a few quality-of-life improvements.

Here's what's new:

  • RSS Feed Widget : You can now add an RSS Feed widget to your dashboard to display the latest news from any source directly on your new tab page.
  • Hide the Add Link Button : You can now choose to hide the "add link" button for a cleaner layout once your links are set up.
  • Interactive Roadmap : A roadmap is now available in the extension, showing what's planned and letting you vote on upcoming features.
  • Revamped Feedback Page : The feedback page has been redesigned for a cleaner and more straightforward experience.

Fixed:

  • Fixed a translation issue in the AI search engine selector.
  • Fixed a bug where the selected language was not included when exporting the configuration.

If you're discovering it for the first time

Home Sweet Home replaces your new tab page with a customizable dashboard where you can:

  • Add your favorite links (with folders and drag-and-drop)
  • Use widgets like clock, weather, notes, stocks, RSS feeds, countdown, and more
  • Customize colors, opacity, blur effects, layouts, wallpapers (static or video)
  • Sync or import bookmarks
  • Fine-tune almost every visual detail

It's still an independent side project, and I'm improving it update after update based on your feedback.

Here are the links if you want to try it or update:
