was I wrong ? ( beware it’s long )
hey so , can someone tell me if im wrong ? it’s Thursday right ? And it’s 7am. That was my scheduled shift 7am-2pm. I was late , but i took accountability and told my manager exactly at 7am that I overslept. My other manager warned me about being late . But i mean hey ? It’s bound to happen. My mental health isn’t really good. But it’s not to the point where like I can’t work. Anyways , We have like this group thing , were we communicating with the managers. It’s on this app. I missed my alarm i woke up at 7am on the dot. So I get there as fast as I could , and ok boom. From the time I got there til about 8:40-9am , the young boy manager already seemed to be in a bad mood. Like he can’t handle stress in a fast paced restaurant. So the receipt machine was not printing receipts, I politely asked him may he fix it . Because customers were asking for their receipts. And they looking at me crazy because they don’t know what they just paid for. And his demeanor
was just so bad , it threw my whole entire mood off. But I still STAYED positive! Because I understand everyone go through things , but why are we reflecting what we are going through onto other people ; especially in the work place ? As bad as the economy is right now , everybody is just trying to survive. Anyways , he has like this attitude and with his hands did like a “ oh im annoyed “ brush down with his hands on his face. And honestly I forgot what he said. I just remember his reaction, cause im so upset . Upset with the fact that I let my emotions get to me. But it’s only so much I can take. Ok boom. I get my break and come back. The whole vibe just feel off. It’s three people in front counter. One of the front counter menu tablets don’t work. So it’s only one cash register and one tablet to take the front counter orders. It’s like 7 of us in this tight little McDonalds , 2 managers packing , one crew boy at the window, one girl taking orders & making drinks. And dude 😂 three people in front while one of us run the parked car orders out. But including me and the other two that was in front counter , one boy was helping with the fries and making front counter drinks. The girl that was taking front counter orders , she was kind of running the orders out. So I started to clean the lobby for the next rush hour. And it wasn’t really all that busy , we barely had front counter customers, there was barely any drive thru customers. But they still had like one parked car , because it was one bag. And after I took that bag , he handed me like 2 or 3 more. But back to me cleaning the lobby from the rush we just had , the dude who was on front counter with me wasn’t really doing nothing . Like nobody wasn’t really doing nothing because it wasn’t busy. and I guess there was a bag sitting waiting to be taken out , the boy from front counter he grabbed the bag about to take it out & the boy manager told him to put it back , because after he yelled at me from the back to take the orders out. I had told him from the spot I was at cleaning , did they want the lobby clean or not? I didn’t see the boy from fc walk pass with the bag to take out . and , he came to me where I was sweeping at and was like , “you need to listen “ “ I told you to take the bags out “ “ did I telll you to clean the lobby ?“ “don’t talk back , cause he’s the manager. “ I could barely get a word out. So I was just like ok , I stopped cleaning the dirty lobby and took the bags out. THENNNN handed me 2 or 3 more. I get back , from doing that and then the towel buckets got like time stickers, so I went to go change the dirty and clean towel buckets. Cause we wasn’t busy. And it wasn’t going to take all day to change the buckets , I carried both of them heavy filled water buckets to the back. I probably weight about 110-115. And he come to the back saying “ did I tell you to change the buckets , you need to listen , I told you to take the bags out.” ( THERE WAS NO MORE BAGS TO TAKE OUT BEFORE I TOOK THE BUCKETS & im SURE THEY ALL WERE JUST STANDING AROUND ) the same way you walked to the back to threat my hours , is the same way you should’ve walked out to take the drive thru customers their food out! But anyways he’s like threatening my hours , and saying that he’s going to cut them , and that I can clock out and go home for not listening . I’m 22 years old . I pay 925 for rent plus utilities . It’s nothing but minors there . Don’t say you’re going to play with my money for doing my job . and he told me to clock out and I didn’t take it well , I threw my vest hat and apron in the office and clocked out. There was another manager there as well and she did nothing at all , because it was his shift. My thing is , ask me to do something , don’t tell me . I have to agree anyway it’s my job. And I wasn’t talking back , I was just explaining what I did / or was doing . You are not my dad & you do not pay me ! You manage the job ! you guys my adrenaline rush me for 1 minute because the McDonald’s is connected to a store , the store employees was like “ what’s wrong “ and I just broke DOWN . I’m already living pay check to pay check trying to survive , and life is already bad with trump in the office . It’s already an minimum wage job $11 an hour . Managers make more . I couldn’t take it , I walked back into the McDonald’s and went slam off explaining that I live alone and have to take care of me and how he’s wrong for sending me home for doing my job. He act as if I was on my phone while CHANGING the towel buckets . We just had an inspection and passed but the whole store is literally filled with roaches . And he checked stickers and we failed that as well. So you’re mad because one employee couldn’t do something for trying to help the store ? If I was just to sit around , well the crew if we were to just sit around they yell at us to do something and get so mad . I’ve had the same headache for weeks now , from working there. The managers , I feel like they face at home or in life situations and bring that anger to work. And take it out on the crew. I get you got to be hard as a manger , but why do they have to be so hard ? We are losing the plot here for that title . management at this McDonalds need new managers. you should have a plan starting your shift. Why are three people on front counter ? everybody is standing around. Only person who don’t move is the window person handing out the food. He told me that I was on front counter anyway. He never told me to run out orders. I was on front counter when I clocked in. So when I get back from break he tells me to be there again. And the other girl who made it 3 people on fc had came in a little before my break started. There was customers present when I crashed out. And I yelled out that the McDonald’s have roaches. I worked for an McDonald’s and other restaurants , never have I ever seen an active roach at those restaurants 😭. I have a1 customer service skills. That role is me , but I told myself I didn’t want to get back into that . Because of this simple fact . So i resorted to working in warehouses , u never have to really worry about managers or supervisors . They just want you to respect the attendance policy and do your JOB! And that’s all I was doing on the day I crashed out. All because I was doing my job. That boy manager was picking at my skin all day. Telling me to shut up while im asking him something , getting annoyed with my voice . Like I don’t get it . But I don’t know chat , the convenience store employees told me to call corporate while they were trying to calm me down. I haven’t yet . lmk what you guys think ?
