Is it normal that I still haven't advanced at all???

I've been working here for a few months now, but out of all the new people at our location I've been here the longest (they hired a bunch of new people in various waves after they hired me).

Although I know other stations (can take lane, present @ drive-thru, etc) I'm placed in dining room for the majority of my shifts and all I do is clean my whole shift (I am not exaggerating here)... Today I was literally cleaning the dining room for 6 hours... had me cleaning diarrhea off the toilet seats and shit too. When I tried to help run (because I was being useless as fuck) my manager just told me to stay at my station. dawg the dining room is as clean as it can be.... I wouldn't say I'm a McDonalds pro but I'm not like an idiot nor am I the dumbest one there so I don't really understand why I'm lowkey a janitor.

In the meantime, they trained a girl wayy newer than me to do drive-thru + taught her how to make all the drinks etc. So, I asked some of my managers if I could eventually get out of cleaning and learn other stations (for ex. I still don't know how to make any of the drinks or ice creams). One of them told me they're just waiting till it's not busy, the other told me that I need to get fast at cashier first??? dawg a dead animal could be fast at cashier it's the easiest shit. idk not to be salty but i lowkey feel like they always just push the work no one else wants to do on me. its frustrating cs i know im capable... u know ?? not to be the complainer but bro

also i'll ask the people on drinks do you have xyz and they'll be like If you need anything you need to make it yourself! i'm not making anything else right now !!! and get mad at me. bro a.) it's ur station b.) yall never taught me!!! shit!!! what do u genuinely want me to do here . but idk if im the dick here so lmk guys

I applied for part time at McDonald’s, and is being given overnight shifts?

Hello, I joined McDonald’s as part time worker not overnight. The guy that was also being trained with me was over night but half way through his training, he went on leave for 4 weeks cuz of family emergency. Now my manager, asks if I can cover him. I said I really can’t and she kept begging so I told her I can only do 2 over nights a week, and she agreed on that. And, now my schedule just came out for the next week, and I’ve gotten 4 overnights in a fucking row… no day shits. Mind you, I joined 2 weeks ago, and just got done with training yesterday.

I’m a new hire.

Hi!!! Hello!-

So I’m a new hire at McDonald’s, and this is my first job ever. I have read the post for new hires, but my orientation is just around the corner, and so is my first work day which is next week. I’m still really nervous, I don’t want to accidentally do something or say something stupid.

Any advice from current or former McDonald’s employees? Please?

When your manager asks you to take out the trash.

He could have done it himself instead of talking on the phone.

How long do McDonald's take to respond to job a application?

Hi I put a job application in for crew member a few days ago but I still haven't heard anything and I am wondering when I will? And at what point should I presume that my application was declined.

question about working at 2 different mcdonald’s

i’m sure this has been asked before but is it possible to work at 2 mcdonald locations at the same time ?

some stuff i need to let you guys know just so i have a more concrete answer:

  1. “why would you want to work at 2 mcdonald’s at the same time ?”

- ‘cause despite being full time and despite having 30 hours listed as my minimum, i’m only getting 15 hour weeks. i don’t think i can live like that !

  1. as far as i know, said 2 mcdonald’s are from two different franchise / franchisee owners.

  2. i’m applying not only because i need a steady, consistent source of income, but also because coompared to the location of the mcdonald’s i’m working at right now, i live relatively close by to the mcdonald’s i’m planning* *to work at ! like, it’s literally 12 minutes away by foot, lol.

im getting my shit together and for that to happen i need money, and without the hours i need i won’t be getting that money. sorry if it’s a little bit of a ramble and a vent post at the same time, but really, any answer, however blunt, helps me a lot ! thanks in advance : - )

So the employees really put in sugar free vanilla?

When I get the sugar free vanilla iced coffee, I swear it tastes different each time. How many pumps are supposed to go in a medium? Maybe they are also putting in the default sweetener as well?

Breakfast batch cook

Some mornings we have a bit of a waste problem. This lady tries to combat it by skimping on the 830am breakfast batch cook but she don't seem to understand that's WHY we're having a waste problem because she skimps to even beow chart levels, we run out way before we're supposed to, usually at a time when there's only two people in the kitchen because we've already begun flexing out for breaks, so someone ends up 'panic dropping ' product and we end up with a lot left over. So the other day I told her I wasn't gonna drop food at her (she's not even a manager) direction, to just let me do my job. So I slightly over made on the level's of the batch cook And everything I made held us through till lunch (except for scrambled, but that's an ongoing thing). So how's your batch cook chart treating y'all, most mornings? Way high, way low or on the money?

How long does it usually take to build a new location realistically?

Was curious about this. My store owner said that one of her stores was being rebuilt and she said likely would be built within the next 90 days. But reading online I'm seeing anywhere from 6 months to 10 months.

Is 90 days a realistic number? My hours are getting cut like crazy because a lot of the employees from that store came over here.

Prep person (USA)

Just curious as to how many of y'all's stores has a dedicated prep person? We have this lady whose only job prep and dishes, while this other lady does only prep and dishes on weekends. How is it done at your store? It looks like a full time job, in itself. Can't imagine it's something someone does 'between orders '

National employee discount ?

I'm trying to find a solution to my store's difficultly with national employee discount enrollment. Our franchise owners removed the button in our POS system for providing our employees with a 30% discount when off duty and vaguely implied they had to order through the app from now on. Unfortunately no one in store or in district knows much about any of it. Subsequently, there are a significant number of us who haven't received said discount. I am one of those employees. While I'm sure it's not personal i can't help but feel slighted by the lack of interest from my superiors.

I'm far from an impatient new hire, while I am part time that's by choice and i have many responsibilities in various areas of the store. I'm approaching my 16 year anniversary and the last few years I have been tasked with new hire onboarding and training. One of my day 1 trainees offered to let me use his 30% discount because it was active that quickly. We have checked and double checked that my email is correct and the same one from onboarding and I've deleted and recreated my account(and waited) multiple times since this started many months ago.

Can anyone help me answer this question? At what point in account creation is the info input to connect to an employees mcdonald's mobile app? So maybe I can find out who might know where to look to correct it... it may be a petty thing but Its a significant factor in my pros/cons list of staying with the company.... any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

First day working in customer care

So today was my first day working my probation period as a customer carer. I was supervised by a lovely lady. I'm quite a shy person but still believed prior to starting the job that I could do well, however I really struggled chatting to the customers. She was chatting away to them like they'd been friends for years (although I appreciate she's probably known some for years).

I'm really worried this is going to mean I won't stay on past my probation period.

I desperately need a job or run the risk of becoming homeless, so do you think it might work if I have a chat with her to see if there was another role for me?

How do I overcome my anxiety from this job?

My first ever job was at 16 years old and it was McDonald’s. I was really hyped at the fact I was going to be employed and the thought of this being my first step towards experience and independence was great. I ended up quitting on day 4.

I just got placed on the frontlines and was expected to get to work, I tried to fit in but I didn’t have a clue on what I was doing and there was a moment when I just paused and thought “what am I doing here?” And that was the summary of my first shift ever.

The 2nd shift was better-ish, the manager at the time saw how clueless I was in the back so I got moved to the front, dealing with customers. Boy was that a mistake. From messing up peoples orders to giving incorrect change to customers having a go at me and swearing I just wanted to dig a hole and bury my head in it.

3rd shift I got called in and given a warning because some change was missing so I must’ve given a customer one too many coins, so I got back to the front and they had to place someone next to me just so I make sure I get the right change and glasses also broke mid rush-hour which was the final straw for me. I ended up leaving on the 4th shift and promised I never would go back there again.

3 years later it seems I might be going back, I need money and no one’s hiring no one but a local McDonalds. Even though it’s been 3 years I still remember everything like it just happened a few hours ago. I don’t want to go back but I don’t think I have a choice.

What can I do to reduce this anxiety I have of this place? I need money and this seem like the only way.

How I can get more shifts (AUS)

I’m a 15 year old and I have worked at McDonalds for about a month and a half now and have completed my training being promoted to PB (production beginner)

I don’t know why I only get 2 to 3 shifts a week and I sometimes don’t even any shifts at all per week I’m not even a bad worker my coworkers and managers say I’m good at my job and I’ve already put my name on all the stand by lists

Is there any reason why I could be getting less shifts? Or is my McDonald’s just a bit overstaffed

Didn't receive paycheck (UK)

Hiya folks. I should've received my paycheck today, but I haven't. I don't see anything anywhere in my emails, on myhub 2.0, and I'm currently awaiting a response from someone on the store group chat. I was due to be paid today, could it be that since I'm a new starter mine will come late? I've done four shifts so far between today and my first shift, and I get paid every fourth Thursday. Thank you all in advance.
