What resolution 1080/2k/4k?

Hi, I play games pretty competitively… from FPS to MMOs. I don’t really play many scenic story games much. I like to update my regularly but I’ve got a fairly big decision to make now going into double oleds. I play the mmo (WoW) on a 1440p 280hz monitor and it works perfectly but I wouldn’t be able to play any competitive FPS games on it especially competing at amateurs because it’s 1440p and 1080p is what people choose for max performance etc. The 1440p can’t be downscaled it’s too blurry. Buying another 1080p monitor just feels like a waste and I was thinking… should I buy a 4k monitor and downscale it? I don’t think it would visually have any impact correct?
and if I want to play another game or my MMO it can be played in 4K. If anyone has any suggestions or advice let me know.

thanks

Am I an addict now?

Hello, I’ve been predicted cocodamol for a couple years now up and down on doses for my TMJ disorder (jaw joint problem) it’s a daily battle but some days are better than others. I take a lot of medication for GAD and Agoraphobia, but I’ve found myself taking more cocodamols than I probably need for the pain because it helps with other stuff like sleeping and headaches etc. I’m taking more than the recommended daily but if I don’t take more I’m just in pain and feeling awful. I’m worried I’m an addict now and have no idea what to do because I’ve tried alternative medication and it isn’t strong enough for the pain? Any advice? Should I taper down? If I tell a doctor they will stop me immediately which will just send my anxiety into space like full on crisis. I’m so dependant on all of my medication anyway but this one I know is a danger because it’s opiate based and I’d be so stuck. Let me know your thoughts.. thanks.
