Rabbit hole. :)

Please educate me, on some images shown around here.

Some implants have a little bump out that rests on the bone, some don’t have that bump out and some have a gap from the bone.

In my simple mind I like the look of the bump out flush against the bone, perhaps not causing anywhere for things to get caught up. Tendons, nerves, muscles, just like the smoother look.

Anyone want to share some correct terminology and thoughts on this.

Well damn, one down.

Currently out of surgery, I am the only person left in the room of 20 something earlier, last appointment of the day. Was able to walk up the stairs and use the walker.

Just need to pee so I can go home.

I will say when I woke up it was some level 8 pain so we will see how it all goes. It hurt so bad I couldn’t have my moment of thanks that I survived

Yay fentanyl!

Thank you everyone for all you support, experiences and information.

Let’s do this!!

Anybody else???

I find it so annoying when everyone says how much of a piece of cake the surgery will be.

I’ve had multiple people compare it to pulling a tooth.

Seriously??😐

The final countdown!!

Well Thursday I’m up for hip one, right anterior.

Trying to make sure I’m ready.

✅ Walker, Dr. sent one out.

✅ Ice packs

✅ Cold therapy machine with hip pad.

✅ Clean clothes and bedding

✅ Grabbers everywhere

✅ FEAR 😧

My wife and kids will make sure I’m entertained and fed. What am I missing?

Last appointment before surgery, phone appointment.

Hello everyone, thanks for all the support and information you have given.

I have my phone call with the surgeon next week and surgery on the 13th, I’m very anxious and stressed.

Any good questions I should ask? They are pretty straight forward with everything and act like it should be a piece of cake.

Whole leg pain. Nervous THR won’t be effective.

I have my first THR scheduled for mid August, at this point my whole leg hurts, my knee clicks like never before, I’m worried I stressed it too much this last few months putting on my shoes and socks for work. Mid thigh hurts and my SI joints are fused, what a mess.

Anyone have some stories about their leg responding well in other areas after surgery?

Ice machine recommendations.

I’ll be getting both his done this year and I’d like to get an ice machine to help the healing process. Any models you guys are using that you like?

Timeline help, 2 hips one year.

Well seeing as disability is only for one year I need to have both hips replaced in one year. Not knowing yet how far out the first will even be.

What can you expect for recovery? 53 male, 6’-2” not a small person.

Very physical job, need to go back before I can retire.

Please share any stories, time lines, advice

Thank you.

FAI cam, no cartilage left, arthritis both hips, laberal degeneration.
