Drake Baldwin (19) and Sean Murphy (16) were T-8th and 13th in HRs among MLB catchers last season. The Braves were the only team with multiple catchers to finish in the Top 15.
Kyle Harrison vs the Cubs: 7.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 11 K
Heavily prioritized his fastball and slurve throwing only 2 changeups the whole game
Worst period of Giants baseball in this century and it’s not even close
Worst of all we have absolutely no solution to this.
Daily Minors Quick-Notes 5/20/26 - Drew Cavanaugh Hits 2 Home Runs
As we rolled into Wednesday, the wins did not stop (except in the Majors) as the farm system rolled. Drew Cavanaugh powered Sacramento to a blowout victory, while Parks Harber was the highlight in a Double-A victory for a starting-to-be-depleted Squirrels lineup. Plus, we get a surprise promotion that probably wasn’t expected but isn’t really that big of a surprise, and a return from injury for a top prospect!
AAA: Sacramento River Cats 13, Sugar Land Space Cowboys 1

Overall this season, including Double-A, he has ten doubles and five home runs in 28 games. Cavanaugh is 7-for-22 (.318) with three walks and four strikeouts with Sacramento.

I love the Giants
So WHAT is the strategy with this current team?
I think fans will still show up if we went full rebuild
All the reporters around the Giants (Pavs, Bags, Slusser) always say ownership won’t do a full rebuild. The team has to stay competitive, to bring fans out and “break even” financially.
Honestly though, do you guys think fans would stop coming out in significant numbers if we found a way to go full fire sale and dump Devers, Chapman and Adames?
Kinda feels like we’re in the same boat as the Rockies now where we have this cool ballpark everyone wants to go to even tho the team sucks.
Sometimes this sub gets real snarky so just to be clear I’m not declaring this is what we have to do I’m just curious for feedback from the fans on this.
Would you still go to games next year if we gutted the roster and it was Bryce, Casey and whoever else?

Do you think Schmitt is taking the next step and is somewhat breaking out?
He's been a splendid surprise for an underwhelming year. I've been sensing his improvement since last year. I don't know how good he's going to be but it seems like he's finding his consistency ans taking the next step towards establishing himself as an everyday guy. Seems like a 150 hits, 15-20 homers, .275 avg type guy.
10 games under .500 50 games into the season
Putting things into context in terms of MLB history, especially as the Giants now stand at 7% odds to make the playoffs according to Fangraphs (and that was before the loss today...pre-season, their odds were 35.4%).
This was posted by an Orioles beat reported as they dropped to 21-29. A team with similar playoff expectations, the numbers also align with where the Giants are at right now.
634 teams in MLB history have lost 29 of their first 50 games.
Only 54 of them (8.5%) have finished above .500.
Only 13 of them (2%) have made the playoffs

The last team to go 20-30 and make the playoffs were the Rockies in 2009 (finished 92-70, so were 72-40) and the Nats were famously 19-31 but finished 93-69 to win the WS in 2019.
Duane Kuiper’s call on last night’s walk off.
Mods removed someone’s “low effort post” where this was being discussed with hundreds of comments. So here’s the clip for those of you who missed it.
I’m worried about this team driving Kruk and Kuip into retirement. They’re over it.
