Is it really necessary to bring a pest control specialist in or is this something people can manage pretty well just buying poison and traps from bunnings? Im anxious about it and wanna deal with them asap before they chew threw electrical wiring. Never experienced this before.

My baby cat has just been diagnosed with Stage 1 kidney disease. She has high BP but she was extremely stressed at vet so vet wants to recheck it another day when she has had gabapentin 1 hour before she comes in.

Are there some natural / easier ways to help lower her stress? I really dont want her to go on meds for BP lowering if I can help it. She is VERY stressed at home at the moment as we have just moved into a new house and she has basal level stress due to not getting along with the other bigger cat in the house

I know feliway is an option however to maintain enough diffusers in a 3 bed house to reach everywhere and ongoing is so expensive. Here, it's $90AUD for diffuser + refill that only lasts 1 month in a medium sized room. I also dont think it works for her as I tried it a few years ago with her.

My 5 year old cat has just been diagnosed with stage 1 kidney disease based off CT findings and borderline SDMA / normal creatinine and urine.

My vet recommended to transition slowly to early renal diet by royal canin (1 meal, other meal can keep as PurinaOne urinary as she has been on). Today was the first day she tried it. I gave 75% her usual food she likes and 25% renal. She had a few kernels of the renal but has left most of it.

Is this normal? Does this mean she flat out rejects it or with time could she possibly start eating/liking it? I am worried she wont end up taking to it and will progress 😞
