Help! What am I doing wrong? I love these!!
These are the pups from my old cactus that a relative overwatered which led it to rot. I cut them off and sanitized the cut, before placing them in a pot with rocks at the bottom for water to move. The white sections are the parts that were underground when attached to the mother cactus, so I'm not worried about those.
What worries me is their shape!! The ones in the second picture are a little caved in, which could mean that I underwatered them (I've been sorta scarred by what happened to my other cactus), but they also seem to have brown spots, which was a result of overwatering before... What is going on!?
And the ones on the first and last photo are still somewhat plump, despite having been watered as much as the others. They also seem to have some brown on them. I don't understand what I did wrong!
I barely maintained my mother cactus and it did well until the rotting. I've had these pups for a few months now, so I doubt that it's the same rot... I'm so lost, I really loved my cactus. What can I do? Please help!
If there is nothing to be done, could someone help ID them so I can at least try getting another in the future? I have a picture of the mother cactus in my post history as well.
Thank you guys for your help, I'm sorry for being so ignorant about cacti :(
