Reconsider your choice
Current student. I need to vent and also warn anyone considering this college, because what they sell you and what you actually live are two completely different things.
The faculty are amazing. I'll give them this fully, they're the one genuinely good thing here and probably the only reason I haven't lost it. But you'll spend your whole time feeling trapped under the administration.
The residence halls have mold in them. The food, get ready for a food poisoning wave every single month. I'm not exaggerating, go check the Krea subreddit, you'll find at least ten posts about it. Same cycle every time: people get sick, everyone complains, nothing changes, next month it happens again. The fact that it NEVER gets fixed is what gets me. Honestly a lot of us are convinced someone in admin is benefitting from keeping the same caterer no matter how many people end up sick, because what other explanation is there. Can't prove it. But you tell me why else it keeps happening month after month.
And the admin in general runs this place like it answers to no one. Anything money-related is shady, and the whole disciplinary side is heavy-handed as hell, I've literally seen it get physical with a student during a room search. Decisions are arbitrary and there's no real way to push back on anything.
So that's the trade: incredible faculty, an admin that makes you feel trapped, and a campus you can't even leave easily, nearest city is three hours by train.
I turned down NMIMS for this. I think about it every single day.
If you're already stuck here too and you've been through the same stuff, please let me know your view.
