2015 Ranger T6: Throttle Controller vs. DPF-Back for response? (Plus questions on budget units)
Hello Everyone,
I have a 2015 Ford Ranger T6 (Diesel) and I’m looking to improve the throttle response, I just want the truck to feel more energetic and responsive when I step on the gas.
I’m currently looking at two options:
- A budget 9-Drive / CBW Throttle Controller(From shopee).
- A 3.5-inch DPF-back Exhaust.
For those who have modified their T6, I have a few specific questions:
- Which is better for purely improving response? Does the exhaust actually make a noticeable difference in how the truck reacts, or is the controller the only way to go?
- Has anyone here used these units (like the 9-Drive/CBW) on a Ranger? Does it actually help with that "sluggish" feeling, or is it too jumpy?
- How often do these cause "Limp Mode" or "Wrench Light" issues specifically on the T6 platform? Is it a constant headache with the budget brands, or is it rare if you use a sensible setting?
Looking for real-world experience before I spend the money. Thanks!
