do you think it was a missed opportunity to go back to the crystal room in bill and ted 3 from bill and ted 1. like they went to the overly CGI'd future which maybe was budget constraints but i dont know why they couldnt cgi up a nice crystal room for a moment. i feel like they could have even joked about it if they werent going to put it in, like - what happened to the crystal room with the domes. 'oh crystal dome rooms went out of fashion 10 years ago'

Does anyone notice theres like a heap of British News Presenters on ABC Australia. Sarah Fergusson, Ros Childs, Catherine Murphy (although shes irish). Theres also quite alot of other overseas accented journalists, which is fine we are a multicultural country. but i dont really understand why, why so many british in particular. our universities are pumping out journalism grads who im sure have struggled to find a place in australian journalism yet we are just drowning in British voices on our national broadcaster. Is the ABC in general just crawling with loads of ex BBC staff and british people who have emigrated?

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to hear Australian accents on the ABC from the on air talent. There are many talented multicultural Australian born jounralists with Australian accents they could put on their air.

Does anyone know if there any any side events happening in Griffith for the One Night Stand? Like is a pub putting on music on the Thursday or a Sunday sesh happening in one of the pubs. I feel like the town should be using the ONS to leverage their local artists whilst the town is pumping. People could be coaxed to come a day earlier or stay an extra day to see some of the local South Western NSW talent.

Anyway I hope this is happening, take this is a sign.

Heres the story -

I went to my usual dental practice. She said I didn't need any fillings.

6 months go by, i go overseas.

I went to a new dental practice, 8 fillings she says. At one point she seems done with the inspection, and seems to be annoyed about the amount the fillings. then she all of a sudden goes in and has another look, "another one" she says annoyed. at the time her behaviour seems odd.

I just trust this person is a professional and isn't trying to scam me so i get the fillings. This dentist she doesn't do the fillings, she gives them to the junior dentist and he completes the fillings.

I never go back to this dentist and years later i ask to obtain the dental records from this practice and another practice. There are no notes from this ladies inspection of my teeth, just notes from the young dentist that the tooth filling was completed. Theres nothing about decay or justification for the filling that has taken place.

I look at the records from the other practice, there seems to be various notes about decay and just look way more comprehensive than the other 8 filling practice.

Can a dentist help me out here -

1. Should there be an official record of the senior dentist who inspected my teeth and advised the junior dentist. it seems odd none exists, is anyone able to explain this.
2. Would the junior dentist re-confirm that a filling was needed before completing the filling or is it likely they would have just followed the instructions and just filled the tooth without spotting of any decay.
3. I had an xray both at the previous clinic and the new clinic. would the xrays alone be able to confirm the need for the 8 fillings for me to alay concerns this lady didn't take advantage of me in my early 20s.

Who do people think will be the special guests at One Night Stand Griffith? Surely MAY-A will bring out flume for Say Nothing. who else could be there, Ninjriachi bringing out Porter? that would be mental. maybe DMAS bring out Ruel? Gensis brings out Ladyhawke for their new song?

How good were the Bryce and Dave lunch times. It's a shame triple J doesn't continue with a lunchtime duo segment because the energy was so much better with two people in the room. Bryce and Dave should launch a podcast before he leaves triple J, just like Stefanovic did with 9. Start building an audience before he leaves at the end of the year.

These two are the funniest duo together. I feel like Bryce got the short end of the stick because his breakfasts co-hosts had other plans for their career, whereas i feel like Bryce has the chops for a further career in broadcasting.

Any ideas for what it could be called? Bryce and Daves - All day luncheon?Luncheon Meats with the big meat boys?

Is it true Abby and Ty were caught smooching in the miami Beach motel the night of the sardines game? are the rumours true they are dating?

I loved the Sardines game radio, ill admit i was gripped for the whole two days listening to the clues, hoping it was within distance of me. Triple J has habit of doing things once and then never again, I think the Sardines game is another all time, like live a version, like hottest 100. How do we convince them to not just let this fall away and do it regularly. i say do it again in a month and then again before the end of the year.

Any ideas on how to get triple J to do it again. I see alot of people complaining about triple J on here, but i feel like if they do something we loved and enjoyed we should praise it and let them know.

the Veronicas becoming hall of famers in the triple J pantheon was an unexpected future. I don't mind a bit of the Veronicas, the songs are good, but at the time they released untouched they were the definition of mainstream radio industry plants. Which at one point was the complete antithesis to everything triple J stood for. I think the test used to be, did the artists write their own songs/music, which the Veronicas if you look into them 'Untouched' was written by Toby Gad (wrote for Beyonce, Selena Gomez), Hook me Up a team of Shelly Peiken (wrote for Christina Aguilera) and Greg Wells (Celine Dion). This team of music executives and professional songwriters writing songs about life as Australian teen girl - this was the made them seem so unauthentic whereas triple j was seen as reserved (for the most part) for artists who had written their own music and were coming from a place of authenticity. That being said with the way music is going with AI, a team of humans made of two australian teenagers, american music executives and paid by the hour song writers seems more authentic than an algorithm cooking something up.

my guess for the venue for the Abby and Tyrone Sardines game is the Rainbow Bay Surf Club aka Snapper Rocks. It's about to be knocked down, i think if i was them throwing one last epic party inside the old surf club would be an epic choice.

For the musical act, im just going to guess Ball Park Music because someone said one of the members was posting from the gold coast on their instagram.

It's been a while since i've been gripped to the radio, listening all workday from 8am until 6pm trying to work out that Sardines game. searching on google maps, messaging friends trying to work out the clues. getting them all very wrong. This is epic radio, Triple J should do this every month, it's so engaging and makes you want to listen the whole day, this must be good for ratings.

Please do this every month, it's worth the small budget to get a few flights for Abby and Ty and paying the band. This game is everything triple J is made for, being able to highlight a regional location nationally that no other station could do and spotlight an Australian band. This could be done to also spotlight a small regional venue and help revive the scene.

Please triple J make this a regular segment, do it monthly, it's totally worth it, ive never been more gripped to the radio listening the whole day like this.

just putting this out there. Im heading to the USA around Burning Man and was hoping to include an experience in the trip. I'll be in the US about a month flying into Los Angeles. Any tips on how to get the best out of the burning man experience. I was intending to sleep in my rental wagon whilst there.

Whose going to the Foreverafter Festival with Presets, Ladyhawke, Cut Copy etc. It's very Nevereverland coded which was a Modular People festival which all these acts were on the lineup for in 2008 and I think were all signed to the record label Modular People. What do people want to see at the festival? I would love it if the artists on the bill did some collabs or even brought in members of other acts from that late 2000s Modular People era such as Muscles or Van She Tech to do a song on stage and just celebrate that indiedance scene of the era. Just go full self indulgent and celebrate the indiedance scene, pack it full of cameos from artists of that scene. I hope they make it more of a vibe with the art and a celebration of the scene and not just a cash grab - because thats how you revive a scene by making memorable collaborative musical moments. What would people like to see at the festival?

Has Kevin Parker ever taken any responsibility for the trail of destruction the dispute over his royalties from his initial record label Modular People caused - mainly for the acts on that label that were wiped out after the label collapsed following the legal action. Modular People had a range of lesser acts like Muscles who had moderate success in the Triple J hottest 100, whose careers were wiped out by the collapse of their record label. I understand it's a complicated situation, and I think Kevin was in the right to seek his royalties, but the other bands on the label were innocent bystanders/victims and Kevin / Tame Impala seem to have done nothing to try and promote them or ensure they were looked after in the wake of the lawsuit and legal action. From what I've read, the unpaid royalties seem to have arisen from a misunderstanding in accounting in Australia/Uk versus the USA. If you look at Kevin's collab history and writing credits he has basically abandoned the Australian scene for the past 10 years just working with big internationals like Dua Lipa, Justice, Gaga but made not attempt to pull up some other local Aussies into that world at all. Kevin why don't you remember your roots and work with some of your old Modular People alumni like Muscles to make up for the unintended consequences of the legal action. If you never became hyper successful, the collapse of Modular People may never have arisen and these people might have been able to maintain a career.

TLDR: I love Kevin Parker and Tame Impala, I just think that seeing how well things have worked out for him, helping out these artists that had their careers wiped out by unintended consequences of the Modular Collapse would be the right thing

Triple J is the antidote to AI slop - for the past few years triple j has been struggling to find its way in the world of streaming and internet but i think it finally has a renewed purpose, a renewed mission statement. Triple J = Antidote to AI slop = authenticity. A renewed purpose to promote real bands, real musicians, create authentic music moments around the country.

Abby and Ty on Breakfast and Luka and Jordan on drive really hit it out of the park this week. Just a real energy this week that blew my hair back. I just want to encourage them, if i may politely so, to go and make these shows their own, throw things at the wall and find out what sticks. Someone posted Abby called a song mid and its already got 150 upvotes, if thats not sign that something so small is enough to comment on that audiences are craving something different on the Js i dont know what is. End the formulaic stuff of the past couple of years, the trio of dips, the lunchtime legends. just go full new, find new ground, funny gimmicks, work with the audience to develop new concepts and go for it, be authentic and push the boundaries! I think that in this new AI era, the big tech monopoly is starting to faulter where people want music they know is authentic rather then being served up AI slop in the algorithms. people can trust that theres authentic real musicians that you can go actually see live, in your own backyard being played. Another year without splendour in the grass and it really shows. This time of year in the Australian music scene it always feels so dead without Splendour in the grass. I also feel like Triple J were part of the splendour fabric and there was always antics that the hosts got up at the event. Anyone got any insider info on whats happening at Secret Sounds or if theres any plucky promoters trying their luck at revitalising the winter music festival in Australia. we didn't know how good we had it. middle of winter and the biggest festival of the year.
