Is Genesis Owusu the best performer of this current generation?

Another absolutely killer set from him and the backing band. 110% energy, controls a crowd as good as any.

Meredith Festival

Anyone else from NSW always wanted to go to Meredith but never made it happen?

It honestly feels like one of the hardest Australian festivals to get to from interstate, flights or driving, camping gear, organising transport from Melbourne, ticket ballot stress etc. But every year everyone comes back saying it’s one of the best festival experiences in Australia.

The whole BYO setup, one stage, no sponsors everywhere and the no dickhead policy makes it feel completely different to most festivals now.

Never been before but really want to finally make the trip this year.

Who do you reckon plays Meredith this year? Keen to hear people’s predictions/mock lineups.

The Veronica’s

Outside the countdowns were they seem like meme entries you never ever heard them on JJJ. Now two arvos this week I’m hearing 20 year old songs by them. What’s the go? JJJ leans to new music let alone playing a back catalogue of a band it never played when they released. Is there some strange concerted effort to push this band?

Good Things 2026 Fake Poster (almost got me)

This poster almost got me haha My eyes immediately went straight to the Parkway and Bring Me, especially with the dates. But then I saw the main headline lol very small band to be headlining a major festival.

Sick line up tho, heres hoping.

New Weekly Free Entry Pop Club in Newtown

Might be of interest to anyone in Sydney - there's a new weekly club night starting this saturday in Newtown which is free entry (!!!) till midnight. There's a few pop parties that happen already like Glitch etc but they seem to be way more milennial branded-y2k inspired, this is definitely going for something more current for fans of addison, slayyyter, zara larsson. Lauren from triple j is djing too.

Throwback (Cancelled Groovin' In the Moo: 2024)

Can we genuinely discuss how this pretty solid 8/10 was deemed within 7 days to not have sold enough tickets? A lot of acts are playing major venues around the country these days.

This festival would have been great if it had gone ahead.
