When a LAV is dogshit, how do hosts lie?

According to every host ever, all Like A Versions are epic and insane, but if they're objectively shit house (yes someone pointed out last week that they can rely on the text line) how do they keep a straight face and go awww yeah that was mindblowing!.!..!.!.!.

(nothing to do with last week's, and IMO they have been generally low bar since covid)

Looking for a song by possible australian female artist?

Looking for an Indie/Folk song by an indie Australian female artist (2010s–2018)

Genre/Vocal Style: Indie Folk, Country Rock, Americana. She has a very mellow, soft singing voice.

Release Era: Sometime between 2010 and 2018. Likely a lesser-known or mid-tier artist featured on Triple J or Triple J Unearthed.

Artist Appearance: Caucasian female, tall (approx. 5'6" to 6ft), with short-to-shoulder-length brown hair, and possibly wears clear glasses.

Music Video Imagery: She is possibly holding/playing an acoustic guitar and walking through a river or shallow natural water source. The song is a melancholic track about a lost love or breakup.

Key Lyrics: Contains a line very close to: "And I was so sure that you would stay" (or "so sure that you'd stay").

Looking for a song title

So there was a track that was getting lots of airplay during the mid 90s that was kind of a Charleston vibe. Trumpets, boppy, think girls in fapper dresses. I think the video clip might even have had someone dancing around in a yellow dress. Mostly instrumental, with lyrics limited to boopy boop type of thing.

Sorry. Super vague but hoping the old timers here can help out!!

Thinking about volunteering at Meredith 34 from Sydney, is it worth it? Also, let's see your 2026 mock lineups!

Hey everyone!

I'm 19, based in Sydney, and just studied a Cert 4 in Business Management. I am also now running my own small live events company and volunteering at 2SER radio. My goal is to build a career in the live music and festival industry, so I've been seriously considering applying to volunteer at Meredith 34 when it opens towards the end of the month,

Coming from Sydney, it's a pretty big commitment with travel down and not having attended the festival preiously, so I'd love to hear from anyone who's volunteered before.

A few questions:

  • What was your volunteer experience like?
  • What sort of jobs did you end up doing?
  • Did you still get plenty of time to enjoy the festival?
  • Was it a good opportunity to meet people and learn about how the festival operates?
  • If you travelled interstate, was it worth the trip?

I've heard nothing but amazing things about the Meredith community and the "no dickhead" policy, so I'm really keen to experience it.

Thanks!!! Let's keep live music alive and well.

Also: Disregard mock lineups as I think a first announcement isn't very away.

Why don't Triple J play Amy Shark anymore?

The Biggest Dick is the biggest hit on commercial radio. Amy Shark really got platformed by triple j when she broke out ten years ago, and was #2 in the 2016 Hottest 100, and had a few years of Hottest 100 domination. But they haven't played her since like 2019. They still play Billie Eilish who's become massively popular, and Amy Shark just disappeared off their playlist.

I just wondered if there was a reason behind it?

Am I the only one that doesnt enjoy the Mix at 6

Don't get me wrong I love electronic music, and I understand the concept of "get pumped up for the day" but I dunno, it kinda annoys me.

When you buy merch at a gig, bands aren't making as much as you'd think

Thoughts? My immediate reaction is that venues shouldn't take a cut but l also know so many venues are struggling atm & risk closing, which means fewer places for bands to play.

My personal Mock for Spilt Milk 2026

Thought I'd have a crack at a Spilt Milk 2026 mock lineup. Tried to keep it fairly realistic while avoiding most of the 2025 repeats and leaning into artists that feel very j-coded right now.

Headliners

  • RAYE UK
  • Steve Lacy USA
  • Gang of Youths
  • Little Simz UK
  • Clipse USA

Second Line

  • Overmono UK
  • Playlunch
  • The Japanese House UK
  • Coco Jones USA
  • Rachel Chinouriri UK

Third Line

  • The Grogans
  • Dean Turnley
  • Cosmo's Midnight
  • Ratboys USA
  • LP Giobbi USA
  • Sycco
  • Yumi Zouma NZ
  • Noah Hill (Parcels)
  • dust.
  • Velvet Trip
  • McKinley Dixon USA

Fourth Line

  • Drifting Clouds
  • PASH
  • Skeleten
  • MGNA Crrrta USA
  • Borderline NZ
  • Mel Blue
  • Bleech 9:3 UK/IRE
  • Mariae Cassandra
  • Inkabee
  • Olivia C. Decal
  • Tseba

Local/Emerging

  • Trophy Wyfe
  • Rageflower
  • Warbaby
  • Yasmina Sadiki
  • Cammy Cautious & the Wrestlers
  • Stella Eve

I was aiming for a mix of big international names, left-field hip-hop, electronic, indie, and plenty of Australian artists who have been getting love from triple j. Curious what you'd change, who's missing, who's unrealistic, and who you think is most likely to actually be on the 2026 lineup?

Why is Concetta so polarising/hated?

I put up a post the other day about fave comedians that have done Triple J, and someone I forgot to name that I enjoy that has dabbled in stand up comedy is Concetta

However on the post, a couple of people commented saying Concetta was a fave and it either got downvoted or they said joking

She seems to be a polarising person on Triple J, from what I’ve seen I’ve never had an issue with her at all she seems absolutely lovely. She was awesome on Taskmaster and I’m a Celebrity Get me outta here. What did she do to make people not like her?
