Questions regarding Vitamin D/Magnesium Dosage/Form

I’m severely deficient in Vitamin D (8 ng/mL) and Vitamin B12 (211 pg/mL) due to gut malabsorption issues I’m currently trying to figure out with my GI. I was given excellent information over at the B12 deficiency subreddit regarding cofactors which I’m currently taking in conjunction with B12 shots EOD.

Since I’m having gut malabsorption issues would the following form (drops) of Vitamin D make more sense over a regular Vitamin D capsule?

Nusava Vitamin D3 K2 Drops with MCT Oil & Omega 3

I plan on taking two drops a day which is the equivalent of Vitamin D 10,000 IU and K2 240 mcg. I’m also taking Magnesium Glycinate 450 mg every day.

Has anyone here seen this brand and is Vitamin D still viable in liquid drop form?

Worried about gait issues.

First, thank you to all who have helped me here and for the wealth of information you’ve all provided. I just took my first B12 shot a few days ago and started taking the cofactors.

When I tested my levels at the start of this month my Vitamin D was extremely low at 8 ng/ml and my B12 was at 211 pg/ml. About two weeks ago I started noticing something off when I walk. I feel a little clumsy almost and I’ve also lost dexterity in my hands. My limbs feel heavy. Also moving around almost gives me a tipsy feeling. I play a lot of games online and I’ve had to stop almost entirely because of this.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Have you guys noticed any improvements after supplementing? I’m currently on 1000 Cyano mcg shots once a week for a month. I’m in the process of asking for the Hydro version and possibly requesting more frequent shots.

This is terrifying. I honestly feel like my world is coming apart and that I will never be better again.

Is this a good routine?

I just self-injected my first Cyano 1000 mcg today. My GI doctor and nurse practitioner want me to try 1 shot a week for a month initially. My labs at the start of this month revealed very low vitamin B12 (212) and vitamin D (8).

Here’s how I plan on supplementing. Please let me know if this looks okay:

SUNDAY (Shot Day)

Cyano 1000 mcg shot
1x Thorne BASIC B-Complex
1x Thorne 1 mg Folate
2x Thorne Vitamin D 5000 IU
1x Seeking Health Trace Minerals
3x Seeking Health Magnesium 150 mg
Potassium Intake through food (bananas, potatoes etc …) and drinks (coconut water, low sodium v8)

REST OF WEEK

Everything from Sunday except the shot.

Is this too much? Would it be a better idea to take different supplements on the day of, before or after the shot?

Awful deficiency symptoms! Worried about wake up symptoms and overwhelmed with cofactors.

Hi everyone! Around September 2025 I started having strange symptoms like gasping for air, tinnitus, vertigo and panic attacks that would last several days then completely disappear. I had been seeing a psychiatrist for several years at this point, but these panic attacks were like nothing I had experienced before. I didn’t have insurance at the time and looking up my symptoms online prompted me to pay out of pocket for a Depression Nutrient Deficiency Panel from Quest (Image 1 & 2). My Folate and B12 came back low. I purchased lozenges from Seeking Health which contained 1000 mcg of Hydroxo B12 with 800 mcg of Folate. I took one and had an awful bout of anxiety a few hours after taking it. It completely scared me off from supplementation. I continued having symptoms on/off at varying intensities and for a few months my symptoms were almost entirely gone. I thought I was okay and decided not continue looking into the matter.

Earlier this year I started noticing an oily film on the water after bowel movements and the symptoms I was dealing with the year before came back with a vengeance. I got insurance and scheduled a visit with a GI. The nurse practitioner who I initially met with listened to all the issues I was having and she requested labs (Image 3). My B12 slightly went up to 211, my Folate went up 7.7 and my Vitamin D which I never tested before came back severely low at 8. She sent me home with 1000 mcg Cyano Shots which I need to take once a week, Vitamin D3 10,000 IU pills once a day and Folate 1 mg pills once a day. I also have an endoscopy and colonoscopy scheduled for later this month. However the GI and nurse agree that I seem to be having gut absorption issues.

After reading a ton of posts and the sticky I also purchased the THORNE - Basic Nutrients 2/Day capsules, Seeking Health Optimal Magnesium (Di-Magnesium and Magnesium Lysinate Glicinate Chelate 150 mg). Here are my doubts. If I’m having gut absorption issues should I get these cofactors in liquid or powder form which I can drink for better absorption? I also bought coconut water, bananas and other foods high in potassium. I’m not sure if I have the right form of cofactors and I’m terrified of the shots wake up symptoms.

Could you guys please provide some guidance? Thank you so much and my best goes out to everyone dealing with this.
