US police officer accused of killing three people in Mexico arrested at border | Texas

The murders seems to have happened in July. The killer is reported to be a policeman in the Texas town of Santa Anna.

=============

The Coahuila attorney general’s office said 35-year-old Chad Eberle was arrested on Wednesday at the border on a warrant accusing him of femicide and qualified homicide, according to La Razon de Mexico, a newspaper based in Mexico City. Under Mexican law, femicide refers to the intentional killing of a woman or girl because of her gender.

According to La Razon, the deadly shooting happened in July in Saltillo, Mexico, after an argument over Eberle allegedly not having permission to take his three-year-old son. Two women and one man were killed in the attack.

The victims were identified by La Razon with the first names and ages of Ana Laura, 44; Laura Jaquelín, 22; and Emanuel, 44. The child’s 26-year-old mother was also shot in the head and remained in critical condition, officials said.

Investigators said Eberle was arrested while attempting to cross from Mexico into Texas through the international bridge at Piedras Negras, across from Eagle Pass, KTXS reported. Eberle had left the residence with his son in a gray Chevrolet Silverado, prompting investigators to launch a manhunt as they tracked the vehicle toward the Texas border, the US Sun reported.

He was then intercepted before he could re-enter the US with the child. The three-year-old was unharmed and was later placed in the care of Coahuila’s child welfare agency.

Four people were shot in the same family, and three are dead, including the shooter, after an early morning incident in rural Caswell County, according to officials.

Caswell County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a home on a country road at about 8 a.m. Wednesday. When they arrived at the house on the 300 block of Brooks Road in Prospect Hill, they found several people had been shot, authorities said in a Facebook post.

Prospect Hill is about an hour and a half north of Raleigh.

One person was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound, deputies said.

“Caswell County Sheriff Tony Durden immediately requested the assistance of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation,” CCSO said in the social media post.

SBI agents are investigating the deadly shooting, processing evidence and conducting interviews as they try to piece together what led up to the incident.

“There is NO THREAT to the general public, and the event is contained to the above address,” deputies said.

The CCSO is the lead agency investigating and are partnering with the SBI and other agencies.

23 June 2026 Mechanicsville UT, 4* killed (poison)

I will watch this case to see if the mother was the killer.

---------------

Brady Harmon had not seen his four children since 2019, but a recent agreement in a custody case had him planning a reunion next week.

On Tuesday, police arrived at his Utah home with devastating news: His four children were found dead 2,200 miles away in an apartment in Mechanicville’s south side.

The bodies of Harmon’s children, Harper, 13, Hudson, 11, and 10-year-old twins Gavin and Gracelynn; their mother, Sarah Myers; and Myers’ mother, Amy Steadman, were discovered by police summoned at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday to search Steadman’s apartment at the John S. Moore Homes on Harris Avenue because no one had seen them in days.

“I went from I’m seeing my kids to I’ll never see my kids again,” Harmon said. “Hope to hell. Things happen, but nothing like this.

Police said the deaths are all being investigated as a crime, adding that based on the evidence gathered so far, “there is no evidence indicating the involvement of any additional individuals.”

Harmon said that police did not tell him how his children died. Asked who he thought could be capable of such violence, Harmon said, “I don’t know.”

Police said they would not disclose how the victims died until autopsies are done.

Harmon said he and Myers recently reached an agreement in Utah that would give him custody of the children from July 1 to Sept. 1. Now, he says, he’ll bury their bodies in Utah.

22 June 2026 Suspect Is Among Three Killed in Montreal Shootout

A Montreal police officer was killed in a shootout on Monday that left three dead, and, for almost three tense hours, city residents were urged to shelter in place.

The gunman was killed at the scene, according to the police, who urged residents to stay indoors because an armed suspect was believed to be still at large.

Nearby roads, transit stations and businesses closed. In the end, the police announced that the lockdown orders were only precautionary.

A civilian was also killed and a female officer was wounded, according to the Montreal police chief, Fady Dagher.

The officer was identified as Mohamed Lamine Benredouane, 34. He had been on the force since 2021, the police said.

“It’s a tragedy and a nightmare,” Chief Dagher said, noting that the shooting marked the first time in 24 years that a Montreal officer was killed in the line of duty. “He was very passionate,” Chief Dagher said of the deceased officer, Constable Benredouane, adding that he had a lot of credibility in the community.

Investigators had recovered a long gun at the scene.

Chief Dagher said that officers had arrived at the scene in the Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood, in northwest Montreal, after receiving reports that a firearm had been seen pointing from a hotel window. When officers arrived, he said, they were fired upon and a gunfight ensued.

At a news conference, Chief Dagher said it was not clear what the gunman’s motive was.

Associated Press, Jun 19, 1999

GREEN BAY, WI — A sexual act that "just went wrong" killed Jennifer Gilbert, and her despondent husband may have thought about calling for help before killing his two young children and then himself, the family said Friday.

The tragedy has focused attention on a rare behavior, known as erotic suffocation or strangulation, as a way to enhance sex.

Tami Gerondale, a cousin of Jennifer Gilbert's, said that after she died, her husband, Mike, "touched the phone several times" but nobody has come forward and said they talked to him.

"It took him awhile to decide what he was going to do. For at least six hours he contemplated different ways. We will always wonder why he chose to do what he did," she said.

The four family members, Jennifer, 25, Mike, 27, their 1-year-old daughter, Evangeline, and 2-month-old son, Ivan, were found dead by a relative Tuesday. They had been asphyxiated.

There will be a single funeral for the family at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Suamico where the couple was married 2 years ago, Gerondale said.

For the family, there was some relief in learning the couple was engaged in a sexual act that went horribly wrong and the tragedy unfolded from there, she said.

"The way she died, she was not threatened," Gerondale said. "It was a loving act on her part and Mike's part. It was a sexual act that just went wrong."

She declined to be more specific, citing respect for the couple's privacy.

Police have only said Jennifer Gilbert apparently allowed Michael to asphyxiate her by putting something around her neck but he did not mean to kill her.

Police continued Friday to refuse to release any more details, other than saying investigators had recovered what they believe was used to strangle Jennifer Gilbert.

There is a form of sexual play called asphyxiophilia, in which one partner chokes the other during sex. It's designed to deprive the brain of oxygen, resulting in a form of giddiness and euphoria — similar to alcohol or drug intoxication — as a way to enhance orgasm, experts say.

"There is no evidence it does. The only possibility is the feeling of terror makes you feel more excited," said Dr. Janet Hyde, a professor of psychology with a speciality in human sexuality at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Studies and research indicate perhaps 300 to 500 people die each year from the behavior, Hyde said.

"People need to be warned it is dangerous. We have a great case to prove it," she said.

But why Michael Gilbert, after accidentally killing his wife, would engage in more death instead of contacting authorities or other relatives remained a mystery.

Family says man armed with AR-15-style rifle racially targeted their gathering

LEESBURG, Ga. (WALB/Gray News) - A Georgia family recalled the moment a man armed with an AR-15-style rifle allegedly shot at their family gathering on Sunday, June 7, in an incident they said was racially motivated.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to Autumn Leaf Drive after receiving multiple reports of a shooting in progress. The sheriff’s office said it stemmed from a “verbal altercation.”

The resident of the home said her family was visiting for a family reunion that weekend.

At about 9 p.m., family members said they were standing in the front yard when a car drove past the home. Jeffrey Tyler Kinzer, who officials identified as the suspect, was reportedly leaning out of the window, shouting racial slurs at the group.

Kinzer has now been charged with aggravated assault. He was cleared at the hospital and taken to the Lee County jail. More charges are expected, officials said.(Lee County Sheriff's Office)

“He’s talking junk. He started yelling the ‘N-word,’” Ramell Green, a witness, said. “He kept going, so we let him go. We just discussed what had happened after.”

The person who lives at the home also said that she called the Lee County Sheriff’s Office after Kinzer left. But about five minutes later, Kinzer and the driver returned.

This time, Kinzer was reportedly wearing body armor and carrying an AR-15-style rifle.

Those outside spotted the suspect with the gun from a distance and began running, Green said. Then Kinzer opened fire, and Green said a bullet flew past him.

“...People started taking positions because they saw he had a gun. And I was in the middle of the street,” Green said. “And I grabbed my gun and started returning fire and moving with him.”

Green said he is a Marine veteran. He wanted to defend the roughly 20 children and older adults who witnesses said were at the home when the shooting occurred.

“It’s so hurtful. I cried all night,” Loucindi Broussard, another witness, said. “I’m lying outside on the ground for a shootout. I’m under a car with my sister, who is 77, and I’m 62.”

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Kinzer was injured after being shot by a family member.

The family said they were racially targeted.

“We were having a family gathering. And it was a great family gathering,” Green said. “It was peaceful...He came and caused that to happen. And he found out that he’s not the only one who has training.”

14 June 1993 Norwalk IA, 6 killed (multiple)

Sentenced to six life sentences.

===========

That night, police said, Forsyth's estranged husband, Richard Forsyth, 42, a part-time janitor with a record of committing domestic abuse, went to the house. The Forsyths' divorce was soon to be finalized, authorities said.

What happened next is not known, but at 1 p.m. Monday, friends of Mary Jolene Forsyth and her children went to the home when their phone calls went unanswered. They found six people dead and Richard Forsyth seriously injured.

In the lush, wooded unincorporated Winfield neighborhood where the Napodano sisters lived, the news put neighbors near tears Wednesday and had them unable or unwilling to discuss the deaths.

The girls had moved with their mother to Winfield from Minnesota in time to be enrolled for the 1992-93 school year, officials said. The girls also sang in the choir at Bethany Lutheran Church of Batavia.

In an obituary notice prepared by Yurs-Peterson Funeral Home in Batavia, the parents said, "Martina and Helen will be dearly missed by their many friends and family who loved them deeply. Although Martina and Helen were sisters, they also were best buddies to the very end."

In Iowa, police have made few definitive statements about the killings.

Richard Forsyth, whose condition was upgraded Wednesday to serious from critical at an Iowa hospital, was not officially described as a suspect, but Norwalk Police Chief Michael Richardson said he did not believe a killer was on the loose.

Autopsies showed that five of the victims, including the Napodano sisters, were shot with a small-caliber revolver and that 11-year-old Jessie Forsyth had been strangled, according to Iowa authorites.

Those who knew the couple said the Forsyths' marriage went downhill toward divorce court after the death of their 7-year-old son, Eric, in a bicycle accident last year.

Visitation for Martina and Helen Napodano will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Yurs-Peterson Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church, 8. S. Lincoln St., Batavia.
