Are professional carpet cleaning services actually worth the money?

Been going back and forth on this because I’ve tried cleaning my carpet myself multiple times now and it still never fully looks fresh again.
Some stains fade for a bit then randomly show up again once the carpet dries and it’s honestly driving me insane. I started looking into professional cleaning services but every company online claims they’re the best so it’s hard to know what’s actually worth trusting.
For people who’ve used professional carpet cleaners before did you notice a real difference compared to DIY machines and store bought products?

Is it normal for carpets to still look dirty after DIY cleaning?

I thought renting a carpet cleaner and doing everything myself would be enough but somehow my carpet still looks kind of dull no matter how many times I go over it.

At this point I honestly can’t tell if I’m doing something wrong or if professional cleaning services just use way better equipment than the stuff normal people can rent. Especially because I’m in a rental and don’t want the carpet looking rough by the time I move out.

Curious if anyone here has actually seen a big difference after hiring professional cleaners instead of doing it yourself.

update: a guy from this sub recommended Get It Cleaned to me and after looking through the reviews and before/after photos it honestly seemed way more legit than most of the random cleaning services I found online.
