My old bike I'm working on fixing up. Just learned to replace the tires/tubes and the youtubers make it look way easier than it felt lmao. Still saving/learning/looking for a good hydraulic cleaning/refill/bleed kit. The fluid in it currently is 6 years old but still works well so I'm not in a huge rush, going to be primarily using the green bike anyway.

I spent most of my time on the easiest 4 gears of the 24 combos available. 😰 They really nailed the gear ratios on the ozark trail hybrid for people getting back into it.

Successful ride to the ups store for a return instead of driving

Car almost on E, still super windy from the storms moving through the midwest but not too bad. Working on building enough stamina to maintain a steady RPM uphill/against headwinds.

RIP to the wheel in the background though

2019 Giant Escape 2 Disc sat in garage for 2 years

It's currently all stock and all original parts that came with the bike, hydraulic brakes, tires, etc. In terms of wear, I put about 2000ish miles on it between 2019 and 2020 commuting to and from work.

Bar Tape/Grips - Giant

Bottom Bracket - Prowheel

Brakes - Tektro HD-M275 Hydraulic Disc

Cassette - Shimano CS-HG31 11-32T

Chain - KMC Z7

Crank - ProWheel

Fork - Giant Alloy

Frame Material - ALUXX Aluminum

Front Derailleur - Shimano Tourney

Front Tire - Giant S-X2 700x35

Front Wheel - Giant Double Wall Disc 700c (GX28?)

Handlebar - Giant Sport

Rear Derailleur - Shimano Altus

Rear Tire - Giant S-X2 700x35

Rear Wheel - Giant Double Wall Disc 700c (GX28?)

Saddle - Giant Contact Comfort

Seatpost - Giant Sport

Shifters - Shimano Altus

Stem - Giant Sport

I'm assuming bike tires follow the same principles as car tires in regards to sitting stationary for long periods and/or sitting stationary while flat. What kind of tires would this need? 700c x 35 with tubes or only tubeless on these wheels?

For the hydraulic brakes are they easy/affordable to service myself? The fluid has never been changed.

Are bearings worth worrying about after 6 years? Or is it only when they make noise/feel off?

I'm not well versed at all when it comes to bikes/bike repair, any help steering me to the right direction is appreciated.

New bike day!

After two test commutes with this guy, I felt it was good enough dig out and salvage the fenders and rack from my neglected old bike.

I would like to refurbish the old one as well but I haven't worked on any bikes before, and this was cheaper than paying someone to do it for me.
