Garlic, onion, green chillies and kalonji (Nigella seeds) are my go to ingredients for giving tadka to masoor dal, whenever I make it. And since Garlic goes so well with this dal and with olive oil I decided substitute ghee with extra virgin olive oil just to see how it turns out. Damn the aroma and the flavor of the tadka! 😋
