Took these photos a bit ago and wanted to share here, it’s located in Keavy, KY area. I actually saw it while I was taking a detour to London.
I do wonder if it’s still being used now? (It likely is) But it’s definitely part of a point-to-point communications link of whatever company owns this substation. If anyone has the specifics on this do let me know, I don’t believe I’ve seen a tower in a station like this before.
I noticed this tower within a Substation in the Keavy, KY area while taking a detour from Corbin to London, here’s some info I found plus some photos during the day/night.

It’s not often I see a tower like that along with a substation, so i thought it was kinda interesting lol.
Also, my taillights really added a neat effect to the night image imo.

Connected to: WHA464 (London KY, recently demolished in March 2026) and WHA466 (Well Springs, TN, also demolished)
This tower points to “ghosts” now.
The owners gave me some very detailed information surrounding the sites history, all the other companies who used the site after MCI, etc.
The three buildings are no longer at the tower site, but are instead reused as storage buildings. The land owners showed me the inside of one of the buildings, explained what everything connected to, etc.
Needless to say, it was worth the trip! Photos taken by me.
Hello! I’ve had this little idea going on for some time, and thought I’d share the concepts here. :)
I’ve always loved towers/antennas and thought to myself “what if I made towers that are dragons?” And so this little series was made!
The first image is examples of the many types of tower dragons that exist.
The reference in the second image is a dragon named “Mick.” He is one of the main characters in the series, “The Cluster” are three who will also be in the story!!
