Is this old Rediffusion cable TV wiring on the front of my house? (UK)

I’ve recently moved into a property in London and am trying to identify some fairly chunky black cabling/trunking attached to the front elevation (photos attached).

It runs horizontally across the front of several properties on the street, including across the full width of mine, and in places appears to bridge the gaps between neighbouring buildings.

From a bit of research, I’m wondering whether this could be remnants of the old **Rediffusion cable television system**, rather than anything related to the electricity supply. Given how substantial/chunky the cables are, though, I don’t want to make that assumption and have contacted UK Power Networks separately to check.

I’d ultimately like to have the redundant cabling removed from the front of my property, so keen to establish what it actually is first.

Does anyone recognise this type of installation? Does it look like old Rediffusion infrastructure, or could it be something else?

Thanks!

These dish antennas were recently installed on a decommissioned power plant chimney. Apparently they're part of a microwave relay system that connects the stock market exchanges in NYC and Chicago. (Avon Lake, Ohio)

A small, connected antenna fell out from behind the instrument panel- what is it for?

The aircraft has Garmin equipment and an L-3 Lynx, but I don't recall seeing this on the installation manual- and- it looks like it wants to be bulkhead mounted... I suspect it's bluetooth or wi-fi but for what? Tried to follow the coax but it vanished into a thick bundle... thanks in advance.

I found this in a tree next to my house.

It’s on my neighbors property but hangs over my fence and pretty close to my house. My best guess is some kind of antenna but would like to know if it’s a creep device.

Surplus VSAT equipment (Newtec, Hughes, 1m/1.2m Dishes) – Is there still a market or value for parts?

Hi everyone,

We have accumulated a batch of legacy satellite internet hardware from past projects that is no longer in service. I’m trying to figure out if there’s still any resale market for these, or if anyone knows specific groups/forums where people buy them for spare parts or repurposed projects.

Here is the hardware list we have:

Modems:

- Newtec MDM2210

- Newtec MDM2510

- Hughes HN9800

Transceivers / LNBs / BUCs:

- ILB 2220

- ILB 2141

- TRX0121/R 3W

- Hughes HA210-L

Antenna Reflectors:

- ANT2025 (1.0m)

- ANT2035 (1.2m)

- IEC Telecom (0.98m)

My questions:

Is there any active secondhand market for these specific Newtec / Hughes units (maybe for WISP spares, lab testing, or Ham radio repurposing)?

What would be the best platforms or communities to list them for interested buyers?

Are the 1.0m / 1.2m dishes generally worth repurposing for point-to-point wireless links, or is it better to sell them as raw gear?

Any advice or leads on potential buyers/communities would be greatly appreciated!
