A walk on the boardwalk

My friend told me about a nearby nature center boardwalk over wetlands. At first, I was not sure how dog friendly it would be.

But it was kind of perfect. A super chill stroll, surrounded by birds and wildlife. We passed by families with small children. Bodhi sat every time, and let the passing kids pet him as they walked by.

He's still a puppy (6.5 months old) but part of socialization really is just taking him out every day to experience new things.

He's feeling better after upset stomach

He's 6 months old, 45 pounds.

This morning, I woke up to dog poop accidents in the house, which he never does. He also had really ugly poop on his morning walk.

He's otherwise eating, drinking water, peeing and playing like normal (although a little less rambunctious than usual). I called our vet & we decided if he got worse, I'd bring him in. But if he continues to eat, drink & act normally, we'd wait and see.

That was at 7am. It's now after 3pm and he seems to be doing better (fingers crossed) all day. I really think he must've eaten something off on a walk or something that really upset his stomach. He's an active puppy and puts everything in his mouth, lol.

Already 6 months old

Photos 1 & 2: at the park this morning

Photo 3: when we adopted him in April, at 4 months old.

He's only 6 months old but he's already starting to lose his puppy-ness and is starting to look more like an adult dog.

Bodhi photos of the week

He officially hit 6 months old this past week. We do daily 2 mile walks at the nearby park in the morning. Most evenings, after dinner we either go to a nearby hiking trail, to the park or play ball in the fenced in backyard.

Our neighbors have invited us to go to the dog park with them, but I'm just not sure about taking him off leash. He's so young. I keep him on leash at the park and hiking trails.

He's 6 months old and 45 pounds. He's going to be a big dog when he's fully grown, lol.

Bodhi photos of the week

He's almost 6 months old. We go to the park every morning, and sometimes after dinner. He likes cuddling with our cats. Also, he just got an outdoor dog bed & it's his new favorite thing.

Bodhi's dna results are in!

We knew he was a pit mix, but didn't know what he was mixed with or to what degree.

Turns out, he's:

79% pit bull (American Staffy & American pit bull mix)

19% big guard dog (mastiff, bulldog, boxer, cane corso, rottweiler, boston terrier)

2% Polynesian street dog

Bodhi's dna test results!

We adopted him at the humane society when he was 4 months old. They said he was a pit bull mix, and they were right!

42% American staffy

37% American pit bull

21% other breeds (mastiff, bulldog, boxer, Rottweiler, cane corso, boston terrier, Polynesian street dog).

I'm so curious to see how big he will get. He's 42 pounds now, at 5.5 months.

5 month old pit puppy

We adopted him about a month & a half ago. He loves daily trips to the lake, playtime in the yard and puppy naps. A wonderful puppy!

5 month old pit bull mix

We adopted him a month ago and he's getting so big! He's such a sweetheart, the sweetest dog ever.

The humane society said he was a pit bull mix. We don't know what he's mixed with, so we might do the DNA test.

He's so outdoorsy. We go to the park every morning, for an hour long sniff walk before work. It gives him a chance to meet lots of people & other dogs, plus it's good mental & physical exercise for him.

Our pit bull puppy & 3 cats

People keep asking how our pit bull puppy is with our three cats. Tbh, he doesn't seem to notice them much. There's a little curiosity between the puppy & the cats, but they all seem to get along.

Morning walk with my pup

A few weeks ago, I adopted a 4 month old pit bull mix puppy. He's quickly turned into my new walking buddy! We have lots of nearby parks & trails for him to explore. I'm hoping as he gets older, I can take him on longer walks & explore nearby hikes.

Morning at the lake

He's almost 5 months old. Usually, I take him to the park by our house but today we drove to a park two miles away. He loved it! It's a bigger park with a bigger lake.... more for him to explore.

My 4 month old pit mix loves his morning walk! We go to the nearby park and walk around the lake. This park is only a mile away, so we go during the week day. But when he gets older, I'd like to start taking him on longer walks / hikes on the weekends.
