Financial Advisor Cost

Hi all,

I’m a new consultant in my first year and I’ve just reached out to a financial advisor for future planning and optimising. The quote I received for the 90-minute consultation and initial advice is in the range of £1000-2000.

I haven’t arranged anything yet. I have to admit that’s way more than what I had in my mind - I may have been too naive idk. Just want to know

(1) if this is in expected range,
(2) from your experience, is it worth it?

I consider myself relatively good with tax, finance, interest, a bit of ISA, and investment. I also have necessary insurance policies (like mortgage, life, critical care etc) and do annual tax rebates yearly. I’m a bit skeptical that if there’s anything significant a financial advisor can add.

TIA

Hi All,

I have Insta360 Flow 2 Pro and X4, so pretty much in the ecosystem. So, rather than buying any random gadgets, I want to be a bit strategic.

X4 is good but I'm after creative cinematic shots - you know about perspective distortion despite dewarp, and the lack of ND filter, no background blur and all that.

[Set up A] I have iPhone 16 Pro and Flow 2 Pro Gimbal. Lately, I've been thinking to buy a proper ND filter for iPhone - this way, I can have all-in-one set up without spending a fortune.

[Set up B] Alternatively, I'm quite attracted to Osmo Pocket 4 and waiting for Luna to come out. If there are at competitive price and quality, I'd definitely go for Insta360 ecosystem.

But I'm not gonna do both set-ups. This will be a bit too many gadgets in addition to X4 and my Fujifilm XE-5. My questions are:

(1) Is there anyone using set up A in the group and how practical is it in terms of portability, deployment etc? Do you think you'll happen to use more often if you bought the set up B? Have you ever felt like you could have shot more if not for form factor and slow deployment? Any regret? I'm aware of smaller sensor size (poor low light performance, reduced background blur etc).

(2) Apart from form factor and the larger sensor size, is there anything only Osmo Pocket 4 can offer but the other set up can't?

Thanks in advance.
