This is bullshit. Why should I have to build a new mailbox when the current one has worked for 100 years?

I'm in the city of Greenville in a 100 year old home, in a neighborhood, not some country road. I shouldn't have to install a new mailbox just so they don't have to walk the six paces and two steps from the road to my current mailbox. Also there is nowhere to install one as there isn't a death strip between the sidewalk and street. So the new mailbox would have to block the sidewalk. Tried calling the post office but have been on hold for 20+ mins with no end in sight
