Constant unconsensual interactions and the emotional burden we take on.
I am a thick skinned cam girl, even before camming as a girl I’ve dealt with all types of men and sexual harassment. But something I don’t see talked about often is the burden we take on of unconsensual sexual interactions and how we have to suck it up as it’s part of the job.
The constant unsolicited pics, men telling us they’re jerking off to us or cumming to us without ANY payment, men constantly trying to steal our time, energy and attention for free, the scammers. It’s such a violation, I know it “comes with the job” but this is enraging and it is violent misogyny.
This goes for all SW but it’s disgusting how we have to expect being violated sexually and be ok with it because of the stigma and dehumanization.
I love so many things about this job, I just hate constantly being told even sometimes by other SW that we should accept and expect harassment, stolen content, predators, low payout margin (by rich tech companies). This is only acceptable in a female dominated profession to have no rights and boundaries.
