Putting together Hotas for Warthunder

Hi, I enjoy Warthunder, but have always been pretty aversive to AIR Combat as using a keyboard an mouse is nothing like the simulators I played with in the early 00's. But I did always love the feel of a joystick & Throttle and using those tools for a simulation makes a big difference. So, recently I came across a Hotas system and it seems very affordable considering I build or attach the chair or mounts myself. This is where my concern comes in...I like fighter jet Sims an games so rI'd like to mount the joystick between my thighs with the throttle on the left. Now, would it be better or more reliable to mount the joystick to the underside of the chair? Or should I mount it on the middle of the desk I sit at, lowered and extended into position, which is also the idea for under the Chair seat mounting

DIY H.O.T.U.S. flight chair for warthunder

Hi, I'm tryin to put a H.O.T.U.S. DIY chair together with a computer chair I no longer use. The only problem is finding a way to get a platform that fits the base of they joystick that I can somehow mount between my thighs, but also still needs to be attached to the underside of the chair. Probably a small down, across, up loop one size square steel bigget than the steel attached to the base so it can slide all the way down, after a few holes are drilled, it can be a design for custom height

Thinkin of buildin a DIY H.O.T.U.S. out of old computer chair

Lookin into finally breaking down an buying a H.O.T.A., but I'm hoping I can build my own modded chair with an older one im currently no longer usin. My question is, If I'm building a sim/H.O.T.A. chair for fighter jets in WarThunder, what's the best way to make the Central mount for the joystick? I know how to add platforms to each side that can slide up/down and forward/backward, I'm just not sure if I should attach a platform with the dimensions of the joysticks base and mount the underside of that platform to the underside of the chair it's closest too.....Or would it be better to mount the H.O.T.A. to the desk everytime I wanna play air??? Any help is greatly appreciated
