I am a former head of one of Gaijin’s Community Management teams. For more than two months, I have been trying to provide Valve with evidence of possible review manipulation and Steamworks access-control failures

Hello, r/Steam.

My name is Evgeniy. I worked at Gaijin Entertainment for 13 years as a Community Manager for War Thunder and Enlisted, including as the head of a CM team.

TL;DR: We have evidence that former employees retained administrative access to Steamworks for more than a year, that awards were systematically given to positive reviews, and that employees received assignments involving the promotion or creation of reviews themselves. I contacted Valve at security@valvesoftware.com on April 8, 2026, but did not even receive confirmation that my message had been received. I am asking for advice on how to get this evidence to the appropriate team at Valve.

There are three separate issues.

1. Steamworks access retained after employment ended

We have screenshots, video recordings, and witness statements showing that some former employees continued to have administrative permissions in Steamworks after they stopped working for Gaijin.

In some cases, this access remained active for more than a year. Here is an example of such access held by one of several former employees.

https://preview.redd.it/elyeogtsjfbh1.png?width=1776&format=png&auto=webp&s=eb4956e94df912e7911522c672aae335a7a7406f

I am not claiming that these individuals used their access maliciously. On the contrary, they acted responsibly and repeatedly tried to get Gaijin to revoke their permissions. The problem is that the administrative access was not removed in a timely manner.

Valve can independently verify the accounts, dates, and permission history using its own systems.

2. Coordinated awarding of positive reviews

We have screenshots of activity logs and testimony from former employees indicating that, following instructions from management, Steam awards were systematically given to positive reviews of Gaijin games.

The purpose was to increase the visibility of selected positive reviews against the background of negative ones.

According to the information available to me, these reviews and the awards they received are still visible on Steam.

3. Assignments involving the reviews themselves

At least two former employees have independently confirmed that they either received or witnessed instructions from management involving not only awards, but also the creation of reviews themselves.

Former employees are prepared to identify these reviews for Valve on the relevant game pages.

Contacting Valve

I wanted to handle this without unnecessary publicity, so I contacted Valve respectfully at security@valvesoftware.com on April 8, 2026, and sent a follow-up on April 13, 2026.

https://preview.redd.it/7m64slb1kfbh1.png?width=464&format=png&auto=webp&s=18f6165816ac511e91c21e3d7a931e30f26d9755

I described the situation and offered to provide the original videos, screenshots, internal materials, and witness statements. However, after more than two months, I have received no confirmation that the message was received or forwarded to the appropriate team.

That is why I am now asking the community for help.

I am not asking anyone to organize a review-bombing campaign, harass employees, or send mass emails. Please do not do any of those things.

I am asking for advice on:

  • which department at Valve handles cases like this;
  • how to obtain confirmation that the evidence has actually reached the appropriate team;
  • which journalists or Steamworks specialists could independently review the evidence.

Valve does not have to take my word for any of this. A significant part of what I have described can be independently verified through Valve’s own logs and Steamworks data.

I am prepared to provide the complete evidence package to Valve, competent authorities, lawyers, or professional journalists through a secure channel.

I can be contacted at: keopm@proton.me

Below, I will include links to my previous publications containing additional details.

Should I research the P-51H-5, F-82E, or start on the naval line for USA

Which one should I get next? Should I use the P-51D-30 to grind through rank 4 and into 5 or research something else?

A server for those of you who want what the game lacks

https://discord.gg/rVSejPUsdJ

We're just starting out have experience with past servers.

The battles span from Interwar, World War II, Postwar, and Cold War overall. With an expectation of the use of real tactics and formations, while on either realistic or simulator settings. CAS will exist but is limited.

The server is also soon to be home to a small naval community, ans potentially air as well.

Though the servers not totally serious, you can join and play War Thunder casually, we play, watch movies, and enjoy each other's company, so come join us!

Even with all the issues in nuclear thunder, I can’t go back to normal ARB

nuclear thunder is superior to ARB in every way even with the balance issues, so I won’t be touching ARB in this game again until they make nuclear thunder permanent, and of course, fix the balance issues that were plaguing the mode, but I think everyone who plays nuclear thunder feels the same, that even in it’s unbalanced, relatively broken state, it’s so much better than ARB it’s not even a contest.

Nuclear thunder feels almost like a real war, like a Battlefield game, and ARB feels like a Call of Duty shoebox.

I can’t go back to the call of duty-esque shitfest that is normal ARB after experiencing nuclear thunder, as flawed as it was. huge maps, you respawn, you progress through the map like a theater of conflict, you can use even weaker jets to their full potential, because the maps are large and it allows jets that might not be the best at dog fighting or air superiority to excel their historical roles, like bombing, you can also use glide bombs, etc. Bombing actually matters in this mode even more than air combat.

Once they fix the balance issues with the overpowered SPAA and the Russian bias issues of the Russian side winning a lot, on top of not giving us enough rewards for playing the mode, and not having different tiers of the mode for expanded BR ranges, lower BRs etc. Once they fix all that, this mode will be perfect, but even in its current imperfect state, there’s no chance in hell I’m going back to normal ARB, normal ARB feels like the demo mode of the game compared to nuclear thunder

In Memory of the F14 and the planes we have lost along the way.

I swear I wasn't high when I made this. You have to actually watch the full thing.

Side Climb They Say…

I have posted about side climbing before and how as an American main you basically have to rely on the better climbing planes not climbing.

In this match I am side climbing, as usual, to get better positioning… welp, I guess that really chapped their asses, as all 7 began to chase me.

But the point is the system needs to change. Always at a disadvantage in American planes at the merge in altitude and in speed.

How can you possibly look at this and think its all good.

Not going to lie, it would be great to have them change the meta to favor American speed and high altitude performance for a month. Then we could massacre the other nations and say things like, bro its a skill issue, just fly defensively, or you didn’t side climb enough.

Always disadvantaged in American planes

I had an amazing NT match playing NATO

It was perfect. Right from the beginning we had people doing air superiority, and 2 pairs of players doing SEAD. S300 went down in 20 minutes or so, then we started slamming naval until we had our nukes, and nuke carriers always had 2 escorts, weasels keeping AA busy.

It was perfect. PERFECT. Down to the last minute detail.

And they were all randoms.

This was some of the most fun I’ve had in WT in ages.

The Russian side is easier but with the S300, Nato is now possible. Gaijin, you may be actually trying but making bad decisions, or you might’ve attempted to deliberately sabotage this mode, I don’t care. Whatever it was, I love this game mode and I want more of it

List of demands to the developers

I think that community is criticizing War Thunder too much. I like the gameplay, grind etc. I know that some things could be better done, so that's why WT community needs to respond in certain way. Throwing shit at developers won't help anything. That's why we need to build a bridge with developers to be helpful with making WT a better game. We need to show them that we are interested in further development. So I made a list of things that annoy me or I want them to be in game to help with gameplay. I also understand, that these demands must be realistic to them. I hope that you agree with me in most of the points. If you don't, feel free to discuss in comments.

  • Less copy paste premiums - I mean mainly anime packs, these are same as existing premiums, they are not interesting for most people.
    • Examples for perfect premiums: AMX-30S, TAM 2IP, F-4S, Leo A1A1 L44
    • Examples for worst premiums: ALL ANIME PACKS
  • Better RP for Ground battles rank V-VIII - top tier grind is too long and many people are discouraged to grind further because they get annoyed - more in next point
  • Make new game modes - games play the same, new event is a great example of new game mode. Some ideas:
    • For Air - AWACS defence, Convoy defence etc.
    • For Ground - literally same as in Enlisted
    • For Naval - Convoy defence
  • Better maps - Most of the new maps lack depth, they just don't feel real
    • Ground - They are made about same ideas, one side for long range, other for brawl, they are not fun to play. Players mostly like the oldest maps, because they have more fun playing them
    • Air - a lot of maps lack elevation, they are just flat. If they have valleys, they are mostly linear
    • Naval - I don' play naval a lot, so any suggestions from you will be heard
  • Transparency - be more transparent with community. We need developers to be transparent with sources for vehicle models. That also means to end bias towards Soviet/Russian vehicles.
  • Engage more with community - voting, explaining to community why developers did some things. They need to show us that they care about us. They ARE NOTHING without us.

What is your favorite map that every other WT player hates?

For me its the sun city, i just LOVE it. 99% enemies i get are just blind and cant play. I dont understand people who call it bad, its literally my dream map

You asked for infantry in War Thunder. You’re getting the remains of a cancelled game.

I received these screenshots and quotes from a source inside Gaijin, and I believe players should know about them.

The infantry mode presented as a new milestone for War Thunder-and as an answer to years of player requests-appears to be an attempt to recover the costs of a failed standalone shooter.

These screenshots come from the testing stage of an unreleased game called Line of Contact. Gaijin developed it using Enlisted as a foundation after the positive response to its modern-combat April Fools’ event.

You will probably recognize the weapons, character models, and one of the maps. The Enlisted roots are also clearly visible, just updated for a more modern setting.

According to the source:

“During the final presentation, shortly before the game was supposed to be publicly announced, management said it was no better than other shooters and cancelled it. After that, we were urgently reassigned to move the finished content into War Thunder.”

I have nothing against reusing assets when it makes sense.

But I cannot shake the feeling that Gaijin sees War Thunder players as a convenient safety net-a way to recover the money spent developing a shooter that, in management’s own words, was “no better than the competition.”

Is this average rp i can have at 3.7BR ?

I have seen tanks that need 18000 to 40000 RP in rank III tanks and I don’t think this will be enough to get those tanks in time seems more grind will be needed as further i get ?
