Common Misuse of CBT

When it is not used within the apposite contexts, CBT is invalidating and dismissive of actual lived experiences.

CBT is not for every type of problem. In my opinion, it should be used almost exclusively for experiences that are matters of dysregulated emotions, distorted perspectives, or disorder symptoms. In essence, the problem originates from one's own mind.

For those who are not the source of the problem(s), CBT quickly becomes toxic and counterproductive. Don't allow yourself to be gaslit by CBT.

Edit: I am not referring to the work performed by therapists who diminish the quality of CBT, which is probably where the claim that "CBT is abuse" comes from. To those who are downvoting my reply: you know damn well you haven't actually learned about CBT directly from credible sources. You're conflating CBT with its delivery from therapists.

What I am referring to here, rather than deterioration of quality, is the misuse caused byoveruse. In essence, sticking to a screwdriver even when a wrench or a hammer is needed.
