Failed milk ladder step 1 at 9 months - when to try again?
Hi, my son is 9 months old and has non IgE mediated CMPA. His symptoms are predominantly extreme diarrhoea with mucus and horrific nappy rash. He is exclusively breastfed and I’ve excluded dairy since he was 8 weeks old/ he hasn’t eaten any dairy since weaned bar a couple of minor slip ups on my end (and the intentional dairy challenge!). We have him 1/4 of a malted milk biscuit as his first step on the milk ladder at 9 months as instructed by Paeds. Omg has it been a disaster- we’ve had 48 hours of non stop diarrhoea and his bum is raw. How long do I wait to restart the milk ladder? Some sources seem to say a month but his symptoms are so bad when they come I can’t be going through this every month! Has anyone experienced the same and how long did you leave it before trying the milk ladder again?
