How did Will and Kate lose their global popularity so quickly?

The world had their eyes on them from their wedding until I would say Charlotte's birth. After that, the world decided to not care about them. How did they squander it so quickly? You don't see large crowds attend their visits, they barely make front covers and George's first day at Eton didn't even make waves.

When they become King and Queen, will the world have their eyes on them again?

Coincidence

Just a coincidence of course that the first time they’ve bothered to visit coincides with the Invictus Spirit Gala and dinner awards this Thursday.
