Cut my vulva shaving over a month ago. My wound was healing fine for the first three days until I picked at it and it got infected, now it's growing into a mass. (31 AFAB)
As the title says. I was shaving my vulva when I nicked myself with the razor. It was painful, but was healing seemingly fine for the first 3 days, but I picked at it thinking it had become ingrown/infected and made it much much worse. Soon after, I got my period where I couldn't keep the wound dry at ALL. It started growing outwards, appearing as a tube of scar tissue with raw flesh in the middle. Because of the location, it's VERY difficult to air it out and to get it to scab properly. I would wear shorts and try my best to air it out, but going to bed and sleeping, it would be back to damp in the morning with no scab.
It's now at the point where it's about the size of a pea, and still pretty painful. It'll sometimes bleed until I put pressure on it (one time bleeding without me realizing it and soaking the entire crotch of my pants, so much so that I thought I got my period early). I try to bandage it when I have to go out, but the gauze pad gets damp quickly.
DIAGNOSED WITH: Ulcerative colitis
MEDICATION: Mesalamine (enema)
On the plus side, I do have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I'm not sure if I need a ref to a gyno or a wound care specialist (both need referrals).
If someone can tell me what this is and what I should explain to my doctor, I'd really appreciate it. I've been trying to do my own research on this as much as possible this last month and the closest thing I've ever found was that it might be hyper granulated/hypertrophic granulation? I'm not sure. I want it gone already.

Also not sure if this context helps much, but when I was a teenager, I had something similar where I would get an ingrown nail and my skin would just start growing over my nail instead of healing normally. Haven't had to deal with a situation like that for a long time until now. It reminded me of that.
