A bit of chat in the media over the weekend regarding Nix’s pre-season form. Disappointing results for Greenacre’s men but it was rightly pointed out that he hasn’t been able to field his full squad yet. Can Wellington progress from last season’s disappointment? Or will it be another tough chapter?

Obviously there are weak points (Koskov and Whittaker don’t command the screen or storyline in my opinion) but overall it’s a really well done film.

If this is legit, how do we think he would go there?

The World Cup hasn’t even started, but given NZ’s 4-0 drubbing at the hands of world no.83 Haiti, some of us might want to float names who could take the top job post-tournament.
A couple that come to mind for me:
Arthur Diles - parted ways with Melbourne Victory, familiar with a lot of the All Whites players via the A League. Accrued a solid coaching resume prior to his first head managerial job.
Steve Corica - could he breakaway from Auckland and try his hand at international football? Has settled into NZ well, he’s gained respect and created history for the country.
Danny Hay - could he come back? Obviously happy working under Corica. But his departure from the AWs only to be replaced by the lesser experience Bazeley stirred quite a bit of discussion at the time and a lot of people maintain he should have stayed on.
Who else is a realistic candidate?
This is huge news. Who steps up?
For the life of me, I can’t think of another WC nation that would turn to a sixth division player.
In the case of the All Whites, it’s curious. There were other CB options between the Nix and Auckland.
