Heat wave prep

Hey y’all! It’s supposed to get pretty hot this week. We’re gonna place some shallow dishes of water outside of our apartment (maybe freeze a couple of them before work?) for the neighborhood critters, bees and birds. We live upstairs in our building, the garage is next to our bedrooms so I think we’re gonna put a couple up there, too.

Any other recommendations to help them out this week? Thanks in advance

Shade match recommendations!

recommendations please! I’m a perfect match for the f1 olive in about face’s concealer. I’m fairer, cool olive with redness/rosacea. Every other product I’ve tried in my life (the last 15 years) is either too orange, too saturated, too pink, too yellow, too light or too dark.

I love the product BUT I’d love to know of other formulations with a close/similar tone. It’s truly the only complexion match I’ve ever found, but I’m curious about products in different levels of coverage, matte/satin, etc. I’ve seen people suggest Missha’s products but i’m nervous to try before knowing which shade would really work.

thanks in advance!!

Just mostly rambling and venting. Advice/personal experiences welcome.

I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS/PMOS since I was 19, I’m 29 now. I have PCOS, PMDD, fibro, MCAS, possibly pots. I also have hyper mobility with suspected hEDS. Pages of symptoms. I’m exhausted every second of the day. My general practitioner left her practice last year and I’m sad about it since she’s the first doctor who ever listened to me and was just getting started with making progress. And now I’m just so tired.

I had my tubes removed a year ago but kept my IUD to manage symptoms. the problem is that I just don’t want to be on birth control anymore. I’ve been on it for ten years and now my IUD is due to be removed. I tried the depo shot first in my early 20s and then the IUD, but it’s been years and is now worn off. depo sucks for me, it made my migraines worse and exhausted. I’m scheduling to have IUD removed during my hysterectomy in the winter (keeping my ovaries) and I’m really excited about that. He wants to try spiro in a few months. and said I could try inositol if I wanted, but I don’t know which brand to try and that’s giving me a headache in and of itself.

idk, I just don’t know what else to do. I’m just tired of existing. I have slowly gained weight over the last ten years, despite eating healthy and exercising regularly. I am exhausted physically and emotionally. my hair is always greasy and now began thinning on the front/on top. My belly is always bloated and swollen. My skin’s oiliness/rosacea/hyperpigmentation is so jarring to me. And with my other conditions, my body hurts every second of every day, whether my day includes movement or not. It sucks because everyone told me to slow down from my overworked 20s, and now that I’ve tried I just never want to do anything and don’t have the energy to try anything new. And the other thing is living in the era of information overload. So I see so many people waste money on meds and supplements and treatments that it’s like I don’t know where to even start again. (Edit; I’m not saying no supplements/vitamins work, it’s just the stress of trying to figure out what does and doesn’t work) Try this, try that or don’t do this and don’t do that.

I just feel insane. And I’m tired of trying/don’t know where to even pick up from where I left off.

I work with disabled people of all kinds in the community and I’m hoping to expand my knowledge of different resources/services for clients. Ones that are maybe a little less heard of, that you’d like to share that don’t get as much recognition! Preferably ones that help community members directly and efficiently.

Oftentimes I find myself having to do an insane amount of digging to find help on behalf of clients, and it would be great to come up with a master list that can be shared around to IRIS/direct care workers, too.

I know that KAC outsources their transportation now, which is a huge bummer. Southport transportation seemingly hires anyone (I’ve seen many of their drivers do unsafe/illegal things on the road) so it would be nice to know about trusted, safe transportation options.

Anyhow, thanks in advance!

Editing to add: if anyone has any suggestions for local businesses that are disability friendly and treat their employees well, that would be excellent information also! (not festival foods, they’re exploitative and predatory)
