Governor
David Crowley is our candidate. Like him or hate him, this is our guy. David received 39.8% of the vote, with Francesca Hong following closely with 39.4%. Francesca has already announced she will team up with David’s campaign across the state. This is the winning strategy. Total spending on the 2026 Wisconsin governor race is projected to surpass $100 million, with political analysts anticipating it could eclipse the state's $164.29 million record set during the 2022 cycle.
Tom Tiffany is the Trump-endorsed Republican runner in the race. He won with 95.9% of the Republican vote. This is unity. This is why the GOP controls the White House, Senate, House and SCOTUS. Tiffany is backed by Elizabeth and Richard Uihlein, billionaire owners of Uline shipping supply company, and Diane Hendricks, billionaire CEO of ABC Supply Co. Add AIPAC and the RNC, and the Republicans have an extremely well-funded race.
Turnout, turnout, turnout is the road back to sanity.

Wisconsin Assembly
All 99 seats in the Wisconsin State Assembly are up in 2026. Currently Republicans hold a 54-45 majority, that Tony Evers fought for 6 years. Wisconsin has a $2.3 billion budget surplus. Tony wanted to use some of the funds to provide daycare, expand Badgercare, provide in-school meals and give raises to teachers, but the Republican-controlled legislature stopped it. Instead, Republicans wanted to “give it back to the taxpayers”. Sounds great, but just like any Republican-led initiative, the largest recipients would be those who need it least. Referendums
There are 3 referendums on the ballot this year. All 3 of them are sponsored by Republicans. All 3 were unanimously approved by all Republics in the Assembly and Senate and unanimously opposed by all Democrats. Given the current state of our federal, state and local governments, you can trust that any initiative brought forth by Republicans will not benefit most Wisconsinites. I will vote “No” on all 3.

NOTE 1: SCOTUS has recently ruled that the USPS is not responsible for delayed mail. I anticipate “unavoidable delays" involving main-in ballots plaguing Democratic strongholds in November. The SCOTUS decision is just another weapon in the voter suppression war that the GOP has been pushing for decades.
When you receive your ballot, complete and return it as quickly as possible. Even better, deliver it to your municipal building personally.
NOTE 2: The 2026 election cycle is critical. The GOP and MAGA are terrified of losing control of the House and/or Senate, where wealthy and powerful people may be exposed. They will do everything in their power and bankbook to keep this from happening.

Ways the community can help.
Leave healthy stray cats outside. Many people still have cats that they let outside or a cat may get out and become lost. Cats are far more likely to reunited with their owners if left where you found them. Do bring in sick, injured, young kittens or cats in immediate danger. If you find kittens please wait a few hours before bringing them to the shelter. Mother cats often need to leave their kittens for short periods of time and we want to keep moms and babies together.
Foster or adopt. During the month of October we are going to be running many adoption specials to help cats and dogs leave the shelter.
When surrender an animal please call ahead and leave a message. This allows us to be better prepared for their arrival and allows us to make sure we have space to accommodate them.
Donating to our pet food pantry to help local families feed their pets.
Volunteering. We are always looking for volunteers and we need help every day a week.

I'm made a post a few days ago and I wanted to make a new post with more information . We are still seeing a large number of cats coming into to the shelter weekly. If possible please wait to surrender pets until our population has gone down or call a head so we can set up a day to assist you. Also please remember we are closed for surrenders Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Also please be understanding that we are very understaffed right now and may need to close early sometimes to ensure that the animals in our care get the best care possible. The health and well-being of the animals in our care comes first. We are working on getting more staff hired and trained.

It was tan and red, maybe 1980sish at the Kwik Trip on 165 and GB (NE Corner) and I said, "Nice truck" to. You said "thank you" and you "were working on it", and all I said was, "I mean...." my brain short circuited. And continued to when you were turning left on 165 and I was turning right and waved at you because I thought you were waving at me, but alas you were blocking the sunlight so you could see....I laughed so freaking hard at myself all the way home, which was much needed. What I was going to say was " I mean, it's a nice truck, even if it's a work in progress"
