Why dont the police uphold the firework laws?

The inconsiderate scum shooting off obscene amount of fireworks in neighborhoods should absolutely be fined and stopped. they are the same people that claim laws matter. they have absolutely no regard for the people around them. vets with PTSD that most of these fuckers claim to support, pets, those of us with babies and theaconof concern for starting someone elses home on fire....which happened last year! one neighbor of mine lit another neighbors house on fire, it burned to the ground! still hasnt been finished rebuilding!

Any person willing to light fireworks away from designated areas so they can get drunk and blow shit up next to homes is absolute scum.

Are power outages supposed to be this common here?

I moved here from montana and even in most blizzards the power would stay on. At most we would have 3 power outages a year.

In the 5 months ive lived here in kenosha there have been 8 power outages

This doesn't seem normal. Am I wrong wrong?

Good vegetarian recommendations?

A friend of mine is going to be in town next weekend and we'll probably be going out to eat once or twice for lunch. She is vegetarian and I was hoping to get some recommendations for restaurants that have good vegetarian options as I'm not vegetarian and never really paid attention to that sort of thing while at restaurants.

Fourth of July Fireworks

Hello,

New to the area. I see harborpark is hosting fireworks. Anyone with prior year experience know the best areas to park or sit for viewing experience?

Any way to avoid the crowds?

July 2026 Job Check

So hows the jobs looking this month? Is anyone hiring? Are jobs there just hard to find or are they nonexistent?

Specifically factory jobs such as amazon, and other jobs in that industry.)

(I want this more for everyone including myself)

> For myself I have history in the fast food & custodian industry, no higher education above high school (not going to go at all), & i am physically capable.

First Time Home Buyer Experiences?

Hi everyone.
I am planning to move from the south (Texas) to be with my fiance who lives and works in Pleasant Prairie. We are interested in becoming first time home buyers, hopefully sometime in 2027. We are aware of the state of the current housing market in Kenosha, and it has caused some concerns for us as we are looking at starter homes in our realm of affordability (250k-300k). We have been mostly looking in Kenosha and surrounding neighborhoods like Salem Lakes, Bristol, Sommers, and some spots in northern Illinois too. I just wanted to hear from some of you other young couples/individuals or first time home buyers on your experience purchasing your first home in Kenosha (or surrounding neighborhoods)? What difficulties did you experience and how did you overcome them?

Thank you!

Cheap Firewood

Who has the best deal on firewood in Kenosha? I'm talking about wood sold by the bundle or trunk load. I need to grab wood for tomorrow's cookout. Thanks in advance!

Brews?

Hello, just moved to the area... Is there a place to get beer after 12? Or is it a state thing? Like can I go to Racine?

Heat wave prep

Hey y’all! It’s supposed to get pretty hot this week. We’re gonna place some shallow dishes of water outside of our apartment (maybe freeze a couple of them before work?) for the neighborhood critters, bees and birds. We live upstairs in our building, the garage is next to our bedrooms so I think we’re gonna put a couple up there, too.

Any other recommendations to help them out this week? Thanks in advance

Be careful walking downtown

This big bird was stubborn, standing on 58th Street near 6th Avenue this morning. It didn't move when I slowly drove around it. I returned home an hour later to find it dead in this same spot.

With a stop sign on every corner and many pedestrians, this isn't an area to drive aggressively or distracted. This bird was EASY to see. No excuse to run it over.

Asian Taste

Did the owners of Asian Taste sell their business? I ask as I’ve not seen the owner in a bit and their entrees have a slight variation from what I have ordered previously.

Flat tires in Kenosha

What is up with screws causing flat tires in this city? In one month, I got two flats with the same car. My second car got one that I noticed just last week and it got the sidewall. Anyone else have the same issue or know of a problem area that we should all avoid?

Massive arrest on highway Friday?

Anyone know what the deal was with the massive arrest going East bound on i94 Friday around Kenosha/Pleasant Prairie. There were like six squad cars and I was driving the other way and saw them very aggressively detaining a man. Wanted to see if anyone has the answer to this mystery

Any interesting nature spots/hiking within an hour of Kenosha?

Been here for about a year and I fear I may have seen all the cool nature spots within reasonable proximity to Kenosha. I like to get outdoors, hike/mountain bike, and explore so wanted to ask if anyone has any cool spots worth checking out. For some context I've already extensively visited these spots:

-Petrifying springs

-Silver Lake

-Kettle Moraine area

-Bong area

-Pretty much every beach here to Sheboygan (including Lions den)

-Minooka and anything around Waukesha

-Done a decent amount of Lake Geneva but open to suggestions

Trying to keep driving to no longer than an hour, otherwise I'd just go to the Driftless. Appreciate all your recommendations!
