LF fics that have good magic lore

Most Tomarry fics focus heavily on politics, pureblood culture or Wizengamot stuff, but are there any that really explore the magical side of the HPverse beyond what’s shown in canon?

I want to read more than just the usual Hogwarts spells or potions. One good story I’ve read that has a unique take on magical lore is A Snake in the Apothecary. It features Harry sacrificing plants or creature parts in exchange for power instead of using wands or spells, which I thought was really refreshing to read.

Please share if you have any recommendations like this. I’d really appreciate it if you could include a link. Thanks!

Tomarry fics with the Knights of Walpurgis

I came across this incredible edit on TikTok and now I’m wondering if anyone has recs where Tom’s Knights of Walpurgis are a major part of the story and capture this vibe.

The Slytherin feels in this edit is absolutely off the charts, and I’m obsessed! I’d love to read a fic that really dives into Tom/Voldemort’s plans to dominate the wizarding world, his dynamic with the Knights, and then top it all off with that deliciously obsessive Tomarry relationship.

If you know any fics like this, please drop your recs!

Fics where they had a relationship fallout and only one of them was willing to fix it

I’m looking for fics where Tom/Voldemort and Harry are in an established relationship or already married but things start to fall apart. Only one of them is actively trying to fix things. This person kept trying their best, but slowly got tired of it all and gave up.

When things between them finally ended, only then did the other person regrets it. I love the pining and groveling, the “I didn’t know what I had until it was gone” vibes.

I want it to be messy at first. Give me the angst, the regret, the yearning, the obsession, the desperate attempts to win the other back. I live for that kind of drama. Bonus points if the person who left actually moves on and starts rebuilding their life instead of immediately resolving the conflict.

I don’t mind if it’s a tragic or happy ending. I’d still read ‘em all. Drop all your best recs below. Thanks!

Harry walks away from the war

LF fics where Harry is so done with the war, the politics, and everyone’s expectations of him. He walks away from all that drama and the conflict becomes little more than background noise to him.

He hears about battles on the radio, reads alarming headlines in the paper, shrugs it all off, and then goes right back to spending time with Tom/Voldemort in their little bubble. The war can rage on, the world can burn for all he cares, he just didn’t care about them anymore.

His only priorities are himself, Tom, and the life they’re building together.

I’d love scenes where they actually act like a couple and are completely shameless about it. Harry doesn’t care that Tom was leading another Death Eater raid earlier that day as long as he made it to their dinner reservation on time. Tom pushes some ridiculous new legislation through the Wizengamot, and Harry’s main concern is whether they’re still leaving for their holiday trip on the weekend. The wizarding world is in chaos, people are arguing about politics and choosing sides, and Harry is busy planning date activities, shopping trips through Diagon Alley, and quiet evenings at home with his partner.

Fics should be exclusively Tomarry or Harrymort, no multiple partners or side pairings please! Even better if they’re married.

Thanks!

I just want to read a fic that’ll make me smile or feel happy and giddy. I have read so much angst lately, I badly need to purge it out of my body. Lol. 😅 I’ve read most of the popular Tomarry fluff fics in a03, so I’m hoping it’s something unique and not recommended much yet. tysm
