Free 3 months of SalahMate Pro for the first 50 people
I built SalahMate solo — a calm app for daily salah: prayer times, quick logging, journal, streaks, circles with nudges, and a smart Fajr alarm.
To get it into people’s hands early, I’m giving 3 months of Pro free to the first 50 people here.
How to claim
- Download SalahMate: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.muhammadhaseeb.salahmate
- Comment SalahMate below
- I will DM you the promo code
Feedback is very welcome: what’s useful, what’s missing, what feels noisy.
JazakAllah khair ❤️
Could you recommend an Umrah package aggregator so I can compare options from various agencies?
reddit.comWhat are you guys using to build RAG version of yourself?
I want to build a small RAG-based chatbot that represents me. There are too many techniques and jargon on the internet that are so confusing. I want to know if anyone has actually tried this and built it. It’d be great if you could share what worked for you.
Built SalahMate – A gentle prayer tracker utilising Android's AccessibilityService for optional app-blocking during Salah windows
Assalamu Alaikum everyone,
I wanted to share a project I recently launched on the Play Store called SalahMate. While it's a prayer tracker at its core, I wanted to approach the design from a fresh product perspective—focusing on solving digital distraction and removing the "guilt-based" gamification found in many habit trackers.
From a developer standpoint, there were a couple of interesting design and technical challenges I tackled:
- Intentional Focus Mode: To combat doomscrolling when it's time to pray, I implemented an optional app-blocking feature. It uses Android’s
AccessibilityServiceto detect if a user opens a distracting app during their designated prayer window, gently redirecting them back to presence. - Kind UX/UI over Gamification: Instead of rigid, high-stress streaks that crush a user's motivation if they miss a single day, the UI treats consistency visually and kindly.
- Journal-Style Logging: Built a layout that allows users to quickly log moments (on time, late, excused, missed) to skim their week like a journal rather than looking at a cold spreadsheet.
- Privacy-First Architecture: No data shared with third parties, location data handles calculation cleanly, and user data delete requests are fully integrated.
I’d love to get some feedback from fellow devs on the UI flow, the implementation of the focus features, or the overall onboarding experience.

JazakAllah Khair, looking forward to your technical feedback or questions about the stack!
Just launched SalahMate on the Play Store – Re-thinking how we build habit & lifestyle apps for the Ummah
Assalamu Alaikum, brothers and sisters,
I've officially launched my app, SalahMate, on Google Play. I noticed a major gap in the Islamic app ecosystem: most utility apps are either heavily ad-supported (disrupting the user's spiritual focus) or rely on high-stress gamification mechanics that cause user burnout.
With SalahMate, the goal was to build a premium, human-centric "lifestyle companion" that balances community accountability with gentle personal discipline.
Key Value Propositions:
- The Distraction Problem: Features an optional built-in focus mode that blocks chosen distracting apps during prayer windows.
- Micro-Communities: Rather than a massive, noisy social network, users create intimate "Circles" with family/friends to send quiet, non-spammy nudges for accountability.
- Retention Design: Designed with a soft, minimalist aesthetic (earth/cream tones) and "supportive streaks" to keep churn low by treating users with kindness instead of guilt.
I’m currently in the early launch phase (gathering those first vital reviews and tracking user onboarding drop-off). I would highly value any feedback from fellow entrepreneurs on the positioning, feature set, or market fit.

I’m looking for early users for my link-in-bio tool. I’m happy to offer a free pro plan if you’re willing to create content around it. If you’re interested, just DM me.

After watching too many founders, devs, and indie hackers squeeze themselves into Linktree's 2018-era template, I built YourSpace.
It's a link-in-bio, but the builder actually feels like building. Drag blocks, reorder, customise, not just a list of buttons.
What's in there:
- Embed YouTube videos, showcase GitHub repos, and build a page that reflects your whole vibe
- Product showcase.
- Standard links, images, text
- 30+ themes
Here's my own page, made with it: yourspace.page/haseeb
Asking for two things:
- What's confusing about the builder?
- What block type am I missing?
Assalamu Alaikum,
I’m exploring a mobile-friendly web app for creating Quranic videos with verses, recitations, captions, and backgrounds.
Would you use something like this? What features would matter most to you?
