Got scammed thru FB marketplace by a middleman, need help HUHU
Hello! I need advice regarding a scam transaction with a middleman (for context: we all live in the same city)
I contacted a seller on Facebook Marketplace named Gretchen Abrasado, who was selling a MacBook for ₱36,000. Since I couldn't meet the seller personally, I asked my friend to meet up with the seller's supposed sister at a restaurant to inspect the MacBook.
When my friend arrived, the MacBook was there, but we later discovered (after I sent the money already) that the woman who we thought was the seller's sister was actually the owner and original seller of the MacBook (the person who I was messaging kept on telling me na wag sabihan sister niya on the price because she's selling it so low for a loan payment baka mapagalitan daw sya).
Unfortunately, after seeing the macbook with my friend, I had already transferred the payment to the middleman (the one i was talking to). The actual owner of the MacBook never received the money. She then became suspicious and accused my friend of being the scammer, which caused a commotion at the restaurant. I have pictures of the person and screenshots of every transaction.
I would like to know if there is any way for me to recover my money. How can I contact BSP regarding this matter or what is the best step that I should do now? I used maribank when sending the money to a Maya account. Customer service on maribank doesn't answer my calls.
