Problem: I received a suspicious SMS containing a link claiming to be a BDO pre-approved card offer.

I accidentally clicked the link, but I did not enter any personal, card or online banking information.

I have already locked my card and changed my passcode. May I ask what other security measures or steps I need to take to make sure my account is safe?

I got scammed on August 4, 2026 through a Facebook Marketplace seller selling a Nintendo Switch 2. The seller video-called me and showed the item, claimed he needed urgent payment for medical bills, and said it would be delivered through Lalamove.

I sent ₱16,000 + ₱500 = ₱16,500 through a GCash Scan to Pay/P2M QR. The QR showed the merchant as JAN ADRIAN GONZALES, with Marikina as the merchant location, which did not match the Facebook seller.

About 10 minutes later, the seller blocked me. I contacted the actual Lalamove driver, who confirmed he had been waiting at the pickup location and had never received any item. I received absolutely nothing.

I reported it to GCash immediately, submitted screenshots, conversations, receipts, videos, and the Lalamove evidence. I also reported it to BancNet, Maya, CICC, and BSP.

The frustrating part is the conflicting responses:

• Aug 12 — GCash: refund declined because the transaction was supposedly valid and the goods/services were successfully fulfilled.
• Aug 14 — BancNet: told me they were still waiting for GCash's response.
• Aug 17 — GCash after BSP endorsement: said they couldn't retrieve the funds because I personally confirmed the Scan to Pay transaction.
• Aug 18 — Maya Regulatory Team: said the transaction originated from another financial institution and closed their BSP case.

The issue is that I authorized it because I was deceived, and no goods or services were ever delivered.

I now have a BSP complaint, CICC documentation, and all the evidence. I'm trying to understand what else I can do to recover the ₱16,500 and why GCash and Maya are giving seemingly conflicting information about where the transaction went and whether the dispute was actually processed.

If anyone has experienced something similar with a GCash P2M/Scan to Pay scam, especially one where the refund was initially denied, I'd really appreciate hearing what happened in your case and whether you were eventually able to recover the money.

I have all the evidence organized and can provide the relevant documents/screenshots if needed.

Nagkaroon din ng issue about sa mga members na nagkaroon ng system deduction. Sinabi na lang ng mga higher ups na "system error" daw yun. Pero ang totoo, yung points na narerecieve ng existing users is galing sa top ups ng new users. I used to be a member of novaluxia but once I realized that it was all a huge ponzi scam, I withdrew all my balance in the app. Thank God wala pakong nainvite dun or else pati sila nascam nadin

I am reporting Mega Peso for serious concerns involving harassment, privacy, excessive interest rates, and collection practices.

I have already reported this matter to the SEC. I have retained screenshots, call logs, text messages, and other evidence documenting the harassment and threats, which I am willing to provide for review and investigation.

Not sure what flair to use for this because I’m not entirely sure it’s a scam but it was very scam-y.

Context:

We went to buy CCTV cameras at Xiaomi official store at SM Southmall cyberzone. While we were testing the cameras, the lady who assisted us told us that we can get SD cards for the CCTV cameras at the Sandisk stall nearby.

We said to ourselves— yeah sure why not? at least we would have SD cards to use right away for the CCTVs right?

Anyway, we walk to the Sandisk stall and ask for the exact type the Xiaomi saleslady suggested. I then noticed something weird— the Sandisk sales lady at the stall then waved at the Xiaomi lady and gave a thumbs up. I wasn’t really going to mind it until the point when we asked for the prices of the SD cards and she read them from a notepad. I mean who knows diba? maybe this is how they do things. Maybe they dont place prices on the products itself?

BUT apart from that, she went somewhere to get the payment terminal… so we started to wonder — why is the terminal not at the Sandisk Stall?

I then checked the shopee prices of the SD cards we were supposed to buy. Guess what? They were half the price on shopee. We asked the lady why and she said that of course shopee doesn’t have any other expenses. We decided not to buy them there.

We went over to Octagon close by and got the same SD cards again for less than half the price of the Sandisk stall. The guy at Octagon overheard us asking ourselves if it was a scam and he just interjected and mentioned that Sandisk does have expensive prices there.

That made us think others have gone through this.

Questions:

1. Has this happened to you?
2. Do you think it’s a scam?
3. Do Sandisk stalls price their items twice the price online?

pumunta ako sa glorietta after work to get something. paglabas ko ng zara, may isang lalaki na lumapit sakin. pinoy siya pero sabi niya taga ibang bansa daw siya, and he had a very american sounding accent. sabi niya hindi siya nakapagpalit ng dollars kasi closed na daw yung money changers. it was already around 8 pm.

i told him na baka closed na talaga since usually hanggang 5 or 6 pm lang. then he asked me kung saan yung makati med. i asked him if he had cash so i could maybe help him book a grab using my phone, kasi naisip ko baka wala siyang grab app since galing siya abroad.

sabi niya wala daw siyang cash or pesos, and asked if baka may cash ako. i told him wala akong cash because i usually just use my cards. i was genuinely willing to help naman.
then he said he could give me $50 in exchange for 1k. sabi ko sige, i just needed to withdraw money first. so i withdrew 1k pesos and gave it to him.

after that, he gave me his name and phone number and even asked if we could take a selfie together using my phone. i guess baka para maging comfortable ako or para hindi ko isipin na scam siya. we took a selfie using my phone so ayun meron naman akong pic ng face nya if ever scammer to.

he also asked me to send him a message with my name and number for gcash daw, para mabayaran niya ako later or something. honestly, hindi ko na rin sure what the arrangement was supposed to be.

kanina lang talaga nangyari and hindi ako mapakali. 😭 after he left, naisipan kong tawagan yung number na binigay niya, pero out of coverage area siya.

now im overthinking everything. 😭 scam ba to or what? i was genuinely trying to help him, pero ngayon ko lang narealize na ang weird pala ng buong situation. huhu.

Pls help me identify po if i did get scammed or not huhu. I was reffered nga po sa Rh_hotline thru tg and at first po naglapag sila ng links from reddit nga po and they responded fast, they gave me assurance such as links and proofs of fpop so naniwala naman po ako, 2 weeks after reaching out to them, saka ko nabigay ang payment (kanina lang) and they said na ishiship out na ang item later this afternoon. But after checking my tg nawala na po ang account😭. Can someone help me pls i'm desperate na po, pinaghirapan ko po yung pambayad kasi pinagtrabahuhan ko pa yon, student lang po ako at violated ako nung nabuo itong nasa tiyan ko kaya gusto ko talaga ipa abort. Pa help naman po😭😭
