Best parks for first week of September

trying to figure out where to head to for the Labor Day weekend. I have a few friends flying in and we want to go birding. I was thinking palo Duro canyon since we’re in Dallas but I’m not sure about the heat. any suggestions?

Birding in the Olympic Peninsula/Olympic NP - Help Needed

Heading to the Olympic Peninsula/Olympic NP for the upcoming long weekend and camping at fairholme campground (lake crescent) for 3 nights. this will be our first time heading there for that long and wanted to get suggestions on the best birding spots we can go to.

ive checked the bird hotspots but in the last 2 months, all the hotspots I go to in the seattle area just dont turn out as great. eg. we went to a spot that apparently had a lot of seabirds but we couldn't see a single bird in the water. same thing with shorebirds for another hotspots we visited. am I missing something? I am not from the PNW and here for 3 months for work and have never faced this problem before.

Please suggest places we can head to and if there is someplace within that hotspot we should be heading to for seabirds/shorebirds. I would really love to see them :(

Tipping for coffee

Hi all, I'm traveling to seattle and am going to be trying a lot of coffees while im visiting. However, after looking at the prices, especially in downtown seattle being close to 10$ a cup (I get my coffee with oat milk), is it okay if I dont leave a tip? there are places charging 1.5$ for oat milk in a 12 oz hot coffee.

Additionally, I am not gonna sit at any of these cafes, I will order my coffee for takeout and have it elsewhere. ive been to a couple of cafes elsewhere where if I dont tip, it reflects on the coffee they make (too much foam even tho I asked for less, overly strong coffee when I ask for medium etc). In my mind, I am already paying for the coffee to be made in the way I want, and I am also expected to tip before I even get to try out the beverage I ordered.

Looking for different thoughts and perspectives on this!

Edit: Follow up question: do people usually leave a tip if they plan to sit at the establishment?

How do you choose which bonus card to keep from your starting hand?

Basically the title. I have messed up so many games just by choosing the wrong bonus card in the start and losing just by that many points. How do you decide which to keep?

For example, if I see a nest bonus vs predator or omnivore bonus, I keep those because of the potential of more points but it always just so happens that I cant even have like 2-3 cards. What's your thought process behind keeping the bonus you keep? Also how do you choose which bonus card to keep mid game via a bird that allows you to draw a bonus card?
