He still thinks what he did wasn’t cheating and should not result in a break up

I have been with this guy for 1 year in an exclusive and committed relationship (or so I thought). We have recently discussed marriage and he said that he wanted to propose to me soon. Last weekend I found out that he never deleted his dating app after we became exclusive and that he has been matching/flirting/messaging with new women behind my back. When I confronted him he denied at first, and only admitted when I showed him the evidence. I broke up with him on the spot.

Now he has been texting me everyday insisting that what he did was not cheating since all he did was “flirting around” and he never planned to meet with anyone. To him, no meeting means no cheating. He even told me that when he’s at work (he’s a nail technician), he flirts/banters with his customers too so why did I make such big deal and terminate the relationship over some flirting? 🤦‍♀️

What he did was absolutely cheating and I was right for breaking up with him, right?
