Which stylus is the right one now for VM540ML?

I have to replace the stylus on my VM540ML. It currently has a VMN40ML, but when I try to shop for one online I keep seeing VMN40xML instead. Was it updated? Is the VMN40ML discontinued?

Should I just order this x one? Or should I try to track down the original VMN40ML?

I don’t think this is mold, but please reassure me.

Patching some spots in my ceiling. Pretty sure a small animal got in and peed in my attic.

Peeled back the outer layer and noticed these dark spots on the wood backing and obviously gulped, until I realized it’s kinda just dusty/ashy.

This likely isn’t mold, right?
