Tummy time

Baby girl will be 3months this Saturday. She does good with tummy time on a Bobbie pillow but when we do tummy time on the ground she is terrible. She can semi get her head up but not much (on the ground). Is this bad for a 3month old? I feel terrible when I see all of these other babies who can do this already. She also isn’t grabbing anything yet like toys. I am trying to not worry but it’s hard not too.

Sex

I have a 3month old. Question, what does everyone do to protect not getting pregnant after having a baby? Birth control? Tracking cycle? I have an irregular cycle so idk how that would work even if I track it, I am scared I will still get pregnant. If you track your cycle how do you make sure you don’t have a scare?

Bath

How often do you give your 3month old a bath?? Or around that age. I read it’s like 2-3 times a week but I feel like it relaxes her before bed and she sleeps alittle better. But I don’t want to do it every night if it’s not good for her. Bc I know they have sensitive skin so I don’t want to dry her skin out to much.

Neck muscles

My 9 week old definitely has a favorite side to look. She will always look right. She doesn’t really turn her head to the left at all. She will hardly keep it straight as well. I have been really trying to get her to look to the left but it’s so hard. I messaged her doc about this (since I forgot to bring it up at her 2 month appt) and she said to just keep trying to get her to look that way and we will evaluate at her 4month appt. That’s not till Sept! Is that too late? I really worry about her development.

Sleep

9 weeks old and she does fine sleeping at nighttime in the bassinet but during the day time naps she wakes right back up or only naps for 20mins in it. Now if she sleeps on me for a nap she can sleep for 2/3hrs. Why is this? And how to work on this? Do I continue to try the bassinet during the day?

Eye

8 week old has what it looks like a clogged tear duct. Anybody have this happen?? What did you do?? I really hope it doesn’t get worse or infected. How long does it take to clear?

Feeding

Question. My 8 week old has been for the pass couple of days really squirmy and fussy during feeds. She pushes the bottle away sometimes and turns her head away when the bottle is in her mouth. Doesn’t finish eating either. Then ends up asleep. Idk what to do. Not all of them but some of them. This is a newer formula (9 days on it). Is this tummy discomfort? We burp her plenty so it’s not that. She is currently on enfamil gentlease. I have been looking at goat milk maybe to try sometime.

Baby fussy

I have an 8 week old and she just seems to not be content like I see some other babies are. Like she won’t just lay there after feedings and just look around or be content. She either eats, sleeps or fussy. Not always crying but just fussy and not happy. Is this normal? Still waiting on a smile too.

Poop

What is normal? I know everyone says straining to poop/pass gas is normal for newborns since they are trying to figure it out. When does this stop or slow down? My girl is 6 weeks and it’s bad. Sometimes she gets so upset bc she can’t go. She is sooo loud at night bc of all the straining. Seems like nobody else has this issue. Or their babies are always happy. Mine just seems fussy and not happy

Newborn not happy

When did your newborn seem more happy? She is either eating, straining because of trying to poop or pass gas or fighting to go to sleep. The mornings she fights to go to sleep for her morning nap. She is 6 weeks old. It seems like every time I try to put her down for a nap (once I can get her to sleep) she wakes right back up. I just want her to be happy. I don’t do a lot of “playing time” bc of all of that. I feel like a bad mom.

Nighttime noises

Okay so I know newborns are very noisy. But she is sooo loud at night. She makes all kinds of noises but she sounds like she is straining trying to pass gas or poop. There is never poop in there but we do hear her pass gas throughout the night. But she does this all night so it’s hard to sleep and I feel like something is wrong but her doc says it’s all normal. I just feel so bad but her eyes are closed when we look at her so she must be ok and sleeping at the same time. So weird. We tried gas drops but I felt like they made it even worse. We do soooo many exercises with her too to help relieve gas. Anybody have suggestions?
