Campbell, CA, gas appliance ban
Here's info from an email I got a short while ago:
Campbell Resident,
The City of Campbell will consider pursuing a mandate that would require the retrofitting of existing homes to be all-electric as part of their "Climate Action Plan" this evening at their 7 P.M. City Council meeting.
Their staff says that the feedback they have received from the community has indicated the "highest community support." We actually took a photo of the Council Meeting documents because we could not believe what we were reading. Note the 2 stars next to the retrofit of homes and the corresponding meaning:
To the contrary, we know that true community sentiment about being mandated to retrofit existing homes to all-electric in Campbell is extremely negative. Most Campbell homes were built in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, or 1980s and are approaching their maximum electrical capacity, requiring conversion at a cost of tens of thousands of dollars.
Please email the Campbell City Council immediately to express your opposition to mandated home electrification, which will just add to our already high cost of living.
