There’s an empty loading zone literally across the road but they never use it. I’ve tried telling the drivers off and reporting them to the City of Melbourne but there’s never any consequences so they just keep doing it
Yarra City Council’s backwards decision to ban Lime e-bikes threatens the viability of shared e-bikes across neighbouring inner-city councils and may force Good Cycles to close (the social enterprise helping disadvantage young people).
Sign the petition to get the premier and deputy premier (Active Transport Minister) to intervene and reverse the decision.
Walking around Carlton, I’ve noticed there is still so much on-street median car parking. I often see these spots empty when I walk past at different times of the day. Over 90% of Carlton residents support replacing on-street car parks with trees, there are a large number of off-street multi-story car parks that never reach capacity and there is a lack of green and open space in Carlton. So I’d love to see the City of Melbourne repurpose these median car parks for pocket parks, gardens, native pollinator corridors or increased tree canopy to help cool our streets. What are your thoughts?
Jolly and his cronies strike again. A sad day for cycling in Melbourne
On Tuesday night, Yarra City Council will consider an officer recommendation to cease the existing arrangement for shared e-bikes, and to not award a contract for permanent e-bike sharing.
It’s so disappointing to see more anti-bike policy coming from this council, especially when popularity of dockless e-bikes has surged in other cities like Sydney, London and Paris.
