I’m looking at options for a Class II Division 2, deep bite, short-face case.

My upper tooth show isn't as bad as others with short face syndrome, but wondering if it's worth going private to get DJS, or if staying in Canada for just lower jaw surgery and a vertical genio. LJS + Genio would be around $3000 plus $7500 for braces. DJS privately is roughly $32K, $7.5k braces, plus travel and other expenses.

The surgeon in Canada did mention that my maxilla is short but they take the safest approach in fixing the problem even if it's not the ideal for aesthetics. Most don't even do CCW and especially not downgrafting. My at home sleep study said mild sleep apnea with an AHI of 6 and RDI of 14. Estimated overjet of around 8mm.

Curious what experiences other people have with this specific bite type and if your happy with only LSJ.

The surgeon said he would do a genioplasty with vertical and horizontal movements but isn't my chin too far forward? Its hard to tell how my lower lips will look after rotating the incisors but would probably will make my chin even more prominent. I don't know what the overjet will be before surgery.

I agree with the vertical lengthening but need advice on the horizontal movement.

I have a Class II, Division 2 bite with a "short face" profile. I just got my braces and will be getting lower jaw surgery in a year. I live in Canada so i cant really choose.

Will lower jaw surgery be enough and would a lengthening genioplasty work with my flat gonial angle?
