I understand the typical handshake and indeed but its so complicated and has listings that don't even hire to begin with. Just wondering if there was any other place to find internships to apply to.
im a rising junior doing mechanical engineering (energy/power concentration) at UConn. GPA's around a 3.4, got the core classes done (statics, dynamics, thermo, materials, some Python) and a bit of 3D printing experience. nothing crazy, but I've got the basics down.
here's my situation: I got a late start on the internship hunt this cycle, partly because I was dealing with some mental health stuff over the summer that's only recently gotten better. so now it's late August and I'm kind of lost on where to even look. I've a lot of availability during the semester, 2 full days plus 3 afternoons from noon on, so 21+ hours a week. I'm looking for a parttime engineering internship paid or unpaid, or any type of internship. I need the income, so this isn't just a resume thing for me.
where do people actually find off-cycle / part-time internships this late? any job boards, communities, or places I should be posting? open to remote or tri-state area any advice appreciated, even the blunt kind. where do i find the places to apply. any and all advice is appreciated
